Ajnu, you raised a very valid point. Yes, participants who do not have an opening statement and/or have failed to take an initial stand, but, nevertheless, are not hesitant when it comes to mooching off of others' views, should be, in my opinion, disqualified and barred from further participation.

I trust Sarina and the rest of the judges wouldn't overlook what you said.

Please excuse me from this particular contest, however. Among other reasons, I myself am not completely clear on the assumptions that one could make in either scenario.

I was just making light here, same as you've been doing in my absence. imo it's pretty cute to just post a disclaimer on your motw when ppl know someone's not around and then use that technicality to take pot-shots. be that as it may, my apologies- i did not take the cue that the nok-jhok was supposed to stop soon as you got done with your motw. i'll also try to be more careful given respective sensitivities/ capacity to roll with the punches as much as we give.

But where's the reason to stoop low over there?You've alluded to stooping low a couple of times here, as if someone's being doing that. has anyone done that? it's insinuation of a kind that if someone had a thin skin, i'd pull up as a personal attack, but i cldnt be bothered.

if anything, you made statements like "get a reality check cuckoo". you've also been pretty dismissive. there were valid points i made there, but again you chose to dismiss them on some flimsy technical grounds. hopefully, i've tried to be respectful of you personally.

i got into it for the intellectual give-and-take but since it's stopped being fun, and since i do really need to focus on work, i leave the field to you. go for it. you win.

btw all this is well and good. but how come this place seem more like discussion mansion or chat mansion these days than debate mansion. it seems to have run amok with one girlie thread after another. see i got nothin against virtual apple pie and cookies, but if we're gonna go so girlie, cant we get tequila too for the boys? lol
