Religion vs. Science

For years, religion has been ruling science, especially marked by the Counter-Reformation in the 1600's. The Catholic Chruches suppresed the scientists and kept killing them.

In today's time, that has disappeared but religion still rules over science. People still believe in God and this and that. When will this stop? Will science ever prevail?

I am sure not all religions go against science.
😆 I remember in biology class a girl refused to learn about evolution because it contrasts with her religious beliefs. I found that a bit irrational on her part.
It's good to have faith, but in order to advance we need to keep an open mind and advance in scientific researches.
Personally if science said something that went against my religion I wouldn't believe it. Not because I don't believe in science but because I know Science is not definite. Everyday scientists find out new things. What we know today might not be true tomorrow.

So does religion have definite proofs and claims? How can you prove that God exists? How can you prove that those 'raths' driven by Rama and Arjuna and whoever flew? But science does have definite proof about something.

i think when science does a new discovery then the religion comes fwd and takes the credit "see we predicted that already in the book and it was just being misinterpreted before"

I love both religion and science, but for me, religion is more important....why? Because I believe God created science. He gifted humans with the knowledge to discover and invent things. He gifted humans to be able to solve problems themselves and understand why certain things happen. Science is another of God's creations.

The sad thing is...some people use science to disprove God's existence. To me, that is as absurd as using a child to disprove a parent's existence.

Regarding the importance: God also created Religion. I think Religion and Science are like brothers and both are kids of God.

One gives more importance to belief and other gives more importance to evidence. Anyway, both belief and evidence are required to go forward.

Not if it tries to disprove God. Science will definitely grow in leaps and bounds as long as it does not interfere with God, but the minute it tries to disprove God's existence, it will collapse.

Debu, Science too cant work without belief. In science, its similar to a hypothesis.
