Instead of USA consider a general case. Suspect everyone, but judge someone by the actions. If actions are good then its good and its bad if actions are bad.

but that is AFTER they (amending party) has had the chance to take an action- then u can judge them as ultimately good or vile.
my question was what to do on the spot when an untrustustworthy and unreliable party holds out a peace sign to you- forget and accept, or remember and reject?

here "forgetting" imples forgetting about a bad expierience or bad blood u had with someone.😃

See if I forget about a bad experience then it still means that I'll not be looking out for such a incident from happening again. Forgiving is fine but don't forget that'll keep you alert and will decrease the chances of the same incident happening with you again in future.

Oh so it is wine you are talking of. Generally I prefer a bid of red occasionally, do not like it chilled but around 23 C is fine.
Vinu ji you take wine too?
But I do not like "smelly" cheese.
Good wine makes it easier to forgive and forget.
