lol ..somehow i just dont see people here (in US) getting converted thorugh this method. We underestimate these terrorists sometimes and portray them as uneducated tribals with aims of converting the west however they are quite smart. Maybe there are some (in those groups) who do think like that ..you know we will convert the west..we will rule the world but the brains behind this know that is not the case. also such theory is often used in west as well however even they realize it cant be that.
its a complex issue related to middle east politics, oil, wahabism in saudi arabia, and soviet war.
ok let say it happened...thats why i said unlikely lol. i do get ur point and i am sure some of it will be true as well

Religion is like politics and it works slowly. It divides people into 'us' and 'them'. After that whenever someone from 'us' is hurt then it is used to generate emotions among people and those people are used to attack 'them'.

On top of that this divide is irrational. People should realize that this divide is just illusionary and we are all from the same human race. All of us have their own differences and one should respect those differences. Like we always say here, religion should be more of a personal thing.

This realization comes from increased awareness. Thats why education and real awareness are important to solve problems like these. People who brainwash others might be educated, but they are corrupt or their education is not the real education. Whereas there are others who are used like pawns and they need some real education.

You don't see it because you're comparing the military power of US with the power of those Jehadis. But if you think about it per se, you'll understand how powerful a motivator death can be.

We never know what this terrorism is actually all about and what these terrorists are actually thinking. We can only speculate about their possible motives.
But I prefer to go by face value, i.e. I will take their agenda to be what they claim it to be. And they do claim that their agenda is to establish Islamic supremacy in this world.
I know it's just a propaganda to influence people which in turn will fund their ulterior motives, but at the same time it can't be denied that it's a dangerous propaganda and people are actually getting influenced by it and they are funding the ulterior motives of these terrorists.

But am now bored about so many terrorism topics on DM lately.

Enough discussions, action is the need of the hour. 🥱

People are getting bored of terrorism topics, when will the terrorists get bored of insane killing of innocent people.

This is the reason why terrorism will not stop in India at least because for Indians including common people and govt every terrorist attack is a discussion topic and now they are getting so used to of terrorism that they are getting bored of even terrorism discussions.

Bartz, if damning them on IF can damn them in rl, I'd be the first one to keep the vigil going. Unfortunately, this ain't so. All such topics eventually gets turned into islam bashing and that is getting way too tiring for me.

Then the need is to see why it happens and how come a particular religion followers are linked to terrorism instead of putting an end to discussions on terrorism related talks. If terrorists can create mayhem in the name of religion then why can't we even point out how they are using or misusing religion to kill innocent people. What is it with this particular religion? Is there a problem in the ideology they follow? Or is it just a business of terrorist industry running in the name of religion? Unless people won't talk about these issues and condemn the connection between the religion and terrorism, insane killings in the name of religion won't stop.

Though I do understand that for people living far away in the so called ideal (secure and safe) world of US, it gets boring to talk about terrorism after 2-3 weeks of the terrorist attack. I doubt if its boring for the victims of terrorism.
And if you are concerned about Islam bashing then as long as there is terrorism in the name of Islam, such bashing will continue. The day jihadis stop terrorism in the name of religion, people will stop indulging in any such bashing.
