Should there be no crime at all?

We always hear Beauty Contest participants say that they want "world peace" 😆

But, realistically speaking, would it really be good for crime rate to = 0?

If there was no crime, there would be no law enforcement system, no courts, no police, no army. Basically, millions would be unemployed. Is this really efficient for society?

Your thoughts please. 😊

If there was no crime , everybody would leave in peace as brothers and sisters , and would be free to channelise their energies in something more constructive !!

If at all there was no Crime we would be living in an Utopian society as postulated by the poets and great thinkers, a mirage that can never be possible, it is again a trickery of the great minds who in a way set a standard to achieve.
Human beings can never keep themselves away from mischief it is the angst, the ego that pulls them either this way or that. Sure there would be no Cops working overtimes to nab Charles Shobraj or extradite Abu SAlem.
There would be surplus of energy, it is said creativity is at its maximum when the conditions are conducive but history tells us that brilliant literary outpourings and even inventions happen during wartime or whenever any misfortune strikes.
A safe and secure environment creates artifical satiety which is against the principle of creativity.

thanks 😊

Btw, that was an interesting response Signora2. Its very true that some of the best literary and artistic works have been inspired by war and crime.

hmm, was just thinking.

if we eliminate crime altogether, that leads to unemployment.

what's interesting is that many crimes are committed by unemployed people. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unemployment)

so, by that argument, trying to eliminate crime would only increase it further! 😕

what do you guys think?

Yes !by trying to eliminate something, we generally encourage it.
I take this argument further, you make laws there will be somebody out there who will see the loophole and use it to his advantage.
Further, if we rationalize all that we abhor and give a new definition to what is crime there are several possibilities.
Stealing per se is not a crime if done innovatively, stealing somebody's idea is not bad because u were smarter than the man who dropped his guard, so you stole his idea. After all go back in time, ADam too committed a crime but how productive it became later on is evident 😆.
Coming back to the present times there is also an increase in white collar crime as well and it will continue to rise.
Then we have the entire defence establishment and the industry that is into production of weapons. It will go kaput if we do not have strife, much of the energy is being utilised in preparedness for the possible outbreak.
The war in Iraq tested America's preparedness that had slowed down after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
