ppl mistake criticism for bashing & retort in a unbecoming way that actually amounts to bashing. This leads to many threads being locked by mods . If only ppl cud discuss things without getting heated we might actually get better results .

Yes its a huge problem in I-F.. how criticism is taken as bashing..
Before I joined I-F i never really knew what bashing is unless I googled it aand found out...Criticism is a part of life...the flip side of a coin...almost like ying to the yang to adulation....

But there are many people who have such a huge ego or fragile emotions, they can't take crticism at all...

According to me there are two kinds of criticism...Positive and negative.. the negative can be broadly classified as bashing...

When you criticise something/someone in the hope of improvement then its positive and it should be welcome...when you criticise viciously, unkindly and unnecessarily just to hide your insecurities that is bahing....
Most people don't understand the difference because they aren't open minded or are biased....and anything said against something they like or love is taken as bashing...

It is a matter of perspective I guess.. how you deal with people of opposing views... It easy to deal with people who agree with you but not so easy to peacefully coexist with people who disagree with you....

I have to admit Ive been on many many forums and Ive come across many hot heads, even the most educated ones tend to lose their grip In an arugument/debate hence they take it personally and start bashing. This is one decent forum with calmer persoanlities. =)

thats very true. even the most level headed person does that. well this is part and parcel of being on a forum.

When I point faults in others opinions --- that's nothing but constructive criticism. However, when others disagree with me - that is ALWAYS ALWAYS bashing😡
