Hi,
I always wonder how do people differenciate b/w a comment and a compliment?😕
Since many times people tend to comment but we dont take offense eventhough the front person is quite sarcastic and harsh still we don't mind and few times people actually compliment us but we feel bad and think negative...So my questions are;
1)Should every comment be taken negative?
2)Since i believe if you take a comment constructively that will come to you as a compliment,Whats your take on that?
3)How do you differenciate b/w a comment and a compliment?
Your comments are welcome😲

some people analyze some people act impulsively. i think its upon a person's relation and understanding with the other person how they take a comment and act upon it. like is u r friendly with a person or if u know that the other person may not actually mean a thing then we ignore it. but when u know that the other person is actually being rude then its upon u to take offense or ignore.

Comments are statements about people. They can be neutral, complimentary or critical.
Compliment is a statement in favor of person. True compliment in order to encourage is positive. False compliment in order to deceive or suck up to is negative.
Criticism is a statement not in favor of person. True criticism in order to incite improvement is positive. False criticism in order to show down people are negative.

You really cannot determine what a statement is without context. Who said it? Why? Was favorable or not? What was their intent, honesty or deceit? Were they serious or sarcastic? Most importantly do they matter?

I say if you can't decipher the intention of a comment, take it as a compliment. Because I know my flaws, and I don't need someone telling me them.
