Hmmm...
As a Certified health specialist, I usually advise my clients to cut down on meat. Meat has gone off the food group charts from the first level to the last one, which means we should not be having lots of meat. Too much protein- the body becomes toxic and the resultant is obesity. You should consider yourself lucky where you are on those daals, fruits and veggies. You are getting everything your body needs. If you are craving for any kind of meat, switch to soy foods like Tempeh and Tofu. They are made from soy beans and taste like chicken!! Yummy!

im a sikh.. and ive noticed that most people that call themselves "sikhs" eat meat.. thats wrong.. because it is strongly forbidden in teh SGGS!.. i SOMEWHAT understand if you call yourself a sikh and eat meat.. but its wrong to say that sikhs are allowed to eat meat... cuz they are TOTALLY not..

apart from that.. i still believe in being a vegetarian cuz i dont see the point of making your stomach the graveyard of animals.. when you can just as well get as much proteins from other stuff... i just think it is completely immoral to kill animals for your wants.. especially when you dont understand them... animals too have feelings.. and have human-type relationships with their children... its just that we dont understand them.. how would you feel eating your pet dog for dinner?..

PROUD TO BE A VEGETARIAN !!!

I am a Non-Veg eater. lol.
Despite the fact that I am a Hindu I love eating meat, coz its soooooo good. i can't imagine my life without meat. I don't eat meat on religious days u know like during diwali, ganesh chaturti and stuff. so yea, if u think eating meat is the right thing to do, go for it.
I don't eat beef or pork. for me meat is fish and chicken. i love fish and chicken. they are so yummy. 😆

I think that eating meat is a good thing. It gives you nourishment that vegetables would not give you. Also, people say that eating meat is wrong because it used to be a living thing. If that is the case, I can also say that eating vegetables and fruit is also wrong! This is because they are also living things! Did you know that plants and vegetables and fruit can also cry?! However humans cannot hear their cry because it is too high pitched!

Hey guys,
I want you to know that pulses and legumes give you all the protein you need. A vegetarian gets ALL the nutrients. Please come out of your "old thoughts" world now and take a look at the revised food group. Today, even if you don't eat meat, you can survive and a lot better than those who are non-vegetarians.
Ask me- I am a health specialist as well as a nutritional counselor. Indian textbooks revise very late and that's why, the old food group is still around the minds of many. I suggest you all to read, "Staying healthy with Nutrition" by Dr. Elson M. Haas. He has got some really awesome content that links nutrition to the world of today and the lifestyle we live. It's over 1000 pages but the information in it is worth reading so that you are up to date.

Best wishes,
Fatmah

I don't find meat that 'yummy' though.

Vegetables are also living things. If you eat vegetables, you are also killing a living thing.

just wanted to add that plants don't have a central nervous system so no pain. they grow, eat and drink and also respond to stimuli but do not have blood.
