Because she is my friend, I would keep my mouth shut up till a certain point in time. She has to be responsible and face reality. The best advice I can give her is to stay strong, focused and fight for her and the baby's right. I say find the boyfriend and make him be a man and take repsonsibility.

But in all, I would keep my mouth shut for only a certain period of time for 2 reasons. 1: By staying quiet I could causing more problems for her and 2: The truth cannot be hidden for so long. It will eventually come out and its better that she herself face it and tell her parents at least so that they can come up with a solution for the future.

INDY GIRL WROTE:
Life for rent you did not get the essence of this question . please note it was mentioned she was DATE RAPED !!!!

By the way , i would tell her SHE MUST GO TO THE POLICE AND TELL ABOUT THE DATE RAPE !! I WILL HELP CONVINCE HER THAT SHE MUST NOT AT ANY CIRCUMSTANCE LET THIS PERSON WHO RAPED HER GET AWAY !!

I agree with you, but I do not know if going to the Police would have helped in India, so I would cajole her to first approach someone elder to her whom she trusts and then talk it out, there is no point in hiding things and also becoming emotional about a baby that will further worsen the situation. Then what ever steps she takes I will support her.

Signora2 in India , i suppose take an elder into confidence and certainly go to the police . Very sadly in India due to the stigma attached to things people don't report sex crimes - whether its child abuse or rape or sexual harrasement !!! This must change . Its every individual who is a victim must raise her / his voice !

I would definately be there for my friend if she's was raped. Well, I would also encourage her to tell her family because they're going to be the people who'll support her if she does report the rape to the police.

But if her family was unaware of her dating to begin with then I don't know what I'd do. I would as a friend just be there for her and comfort her so she doesn't think of commiting suicide or terrible like that.

Now if this were to happen in india then that would be a completely different story because if a YOUNG girl is pregnant (remember the movie Kya Kehna?) she'll most likely be looked down upon wheter if it was rape or not.

if its a rape , then it should defenitely be reported.i'd stand by my friend and make her go to a counsellor.

Rape is one of the worst crimes ever committed on a women coz its not just physical violation that she suffers from. She is ashamed, she is lacking in self confidence. most rape victims feel guilty after sometime.they feel that they had somehow perpetuated the crime.

So counselling is a must. They must get their confidence back and should try not to blame themselves.

So, i'd spend as much time as possible with her and force her to take an interest in life.I'll not blame her for choosing the wrong guy.

I would try to convince her to report her boyfriend to the police. He should definitely be punished! Then, Id tell her that Im on her side no matter what because she didnt do anything wrong in my views. 😊
