I am a huge historical period drama fan and details like these irk me.

Here are some serious issues with the plot

- Anarkali Salim childhood romance
- Anarkali not being named Nadira but saifo
- her coming from faras?
-Jodha being called Maharani, and calling Akbar maharaj
- Ruqaiya having a disliking for salim
- Salima being the youngest wife? Salima was elder then Akbar by a few years. She was Bairam khan's widow. She was not at all negative
- Akbar referred to as Badshah? !! ! What the? Badshah? Akbar was shenshah. There is a huge difference between the two. A shehenshah rules over various badshahs.
-where r mothers of the other kids?
- where is birbal? And other nauratans?
- why is akbar so soft?
-why is every other lady negative?

I can't believe makers of PV are the makers of this comedy show. So far it is very disappointing and the kids are heavily annoying. They could have just shown Salim's childhood in one epi for him being send off but no.
Let's see if Sonarika and Shaheer's entry makes it any better

I agree
They should have just shown salims childhood

anarkali should have been only shown as grown up

No childhood friendship

In those times a maid's kid and prince cannot be friends

Akbar is ok with maid and his sons friendship???
anarkali and her mom acting like royals in palace than maids

It was best only salims birth and bit of childhood was shown and than youth
Anarkali should have come only as adult

With all due respect, I'm now wondering why Shaheer and Sonarika chose this project.

Please don't take me wrong as this post is not intended to hurt anyone.

In this show, the only connection of this story to "history" that I see is that it is kind of related to the story of the movie Mughal E Azam. 😆 😆. For me this is just a love story based very loosely on some facts. Like a fan fiction written based on Dev and Sonakshi of KRPKAB. In these FFs we see so many variations of the same characters playing a completely different role with very different behavior than what was portrayed in the original series. This series is also like that. The characters from history are used to create a very imaginative love story. 😃 😉

And this is the reason why both Shaheer and Sonarika chose this project. These roles give them the liberty to add their own flavor to the characters. They don't have to match to something that is accurate. They can use their imagination and improvise and basically show off their acting prowess. 😃 .

I don't know about Pritvi Vallabh, but in KRPKAB, Shaheer as Dev was able to portray various shades of Dev from someone not believing in love, to becoming a lover boy, Devdas, father's dilemma, son's feelings, etc. And what I can see is him doing something similar to this in this series too. It is about a fictional story where there is so many accounts that lot of the details are obscure. Again, no offense to history, but there is so much variation regarding this person named Anarkali that for me after all these years, it doesn't really matter. I mean the makers did not say this is going to be a documentary, which needs to be accurate. They are making a commercial show using a mythical love story similar to all of those other love stories that we read like Laila-Majnu, Heer-Ranjha etc.

I find the series to be a good time pass with good actors.

I sincerely apologize if I hurt anyone. It was unintentional.

Now I apologize because I don't know Indian history too well given I am from Canada. My history knowledge comes from my mother, online, and books that I have read, but I do agree with you on all your points. I have a few to add of my own now, which I just finished posting elsewhere. Some of them may be a repeat of yours.

Now a few mistakes that I noticed today and that I missed earlier:

  • Didn't Anarkali have a sister as well? Also wasn't her real name Nadira, not Saifu, or is Saifu just a nickname?
  • I thought Anarkali's mother was always a dasi in Akbar's palace? Even before Salim's birth. Then why are they coming from Faras?
  • Abu Fazal was a poet right? Not a warrior. So why is he being shown a warrior here?
  • And where are Birbal and the other navratans?
  • They are showing Anarkali and Salim having friendship since childhood, but I thought they met after Salim returned from several years of training.
  • Like mentioned, why isn't Salim being referred to as Sheikhu Baba? Not even once has Akbar said this affectionate term yet!

Actually, I'm not worried about historical accuracy since Sonarika said that Anarkali's story is/would be fictitious. I don't expect accuracy from Hindi historical shows anyway. 😆

I am just surprised at the screenplay, dialogues, and handling of characters. There is too much negativity in the show from the start.

Again, with all due respect, I don't want this to turn into an Ekta show.

Shaavi

I also heard all saying it will be a fictional story

Fictional means will they changed the whole story of Salim anarkali ,like you said about Krpkab FF s.
I hope they don't do that

Some imaginary plots is fine but hope they stick to the actual story where Salim anarkali never become one.

Here are some serious issues with the plot

- Anarkali Salim childhood romance

I am sure why they are doing this

- Anarkali not being named Nadira but saifo. her coming from faras?

There no historical record of Anarkali's real name just like there is no record of Salim 's mother who was refered as Mariam-U-Zain in historical record she ws hindu a rajput but her real name is not know was it Heera Harka or Jodha no one now when a queen's name is the other Anarakali was maid so Nadira or Saifu doesn't matter

-Jodha being called Maharani, and calling Akbar maharaj

I don't think Jodha referring to Akbar as Maharaj is not wrong as Maharaj also menas kings of kings in Sanskrit just like Shahansha in urdu but her calling Jodha, Maharani no Mallika-E-Hind or Mariam-U-Zamani or Begum is unrealistic totally

- Ruqaiya having a disliking for salim. Salima being the youngest wife? Salima was elder then Akbar by a few years. She was Bairam khan's widow. She was not at all negative

As per history Salima was ruquiya s elder cousin sister. Jodha was Akbar's youngest chief wife not Salima it is said Ruquiya loved Salim as her on son so did Salima. Salim was cosidered Murad's Mirza's son Akbar's younger son. Salima also nutured Bariam Khan's son Rahim Khan-e-Khana as her own so she was lovable personal. i persume so was Ruquiya

- Akbar referred to as Badshah? !! ! What the? Badshah? Akbar was shenshah. There is a huge difference between the two. A shehenshah rules over various badshahs.

-where r mothers of the other kids?

Murad and Daniyal mother are dead But daniyal was closely nurtured by Jodha and Murad was nurtured by Salima.

- where is birbal? And other nauratans?

They have not shown all the other Navratans till now but I expect them to do it soon as taht will introduce Jodha's family too and probably even Maan Bai Salim's first wife

- why is akbar so soft?

Probably by that time as father and king Akbar became softer

-why is every other lady negative?

I don't know why they are all the character even Hamida Begum (Akbar's Mother) she has always been portrayed as understanding and sensitive in movies as well as shows

I can't believe makers of PV are the makers of this comedy show. So far it is very disappointing and the kids are heavily annoying. They could have just shown Salim's childhood in one epi for him being send off but no.

I hope you understand

^^^^ I know Anarkali is fictional and they have creative liberty on her character but all the other things really don't make sense.
All of what u have explained. I already know that😕 u have only elaborated the same.
The question is why r cvs doing it wrong

When Anarkali is fictional, how can there be any truth in a love story between her and Salim. The whole idea of Salim falling in love with someone who is not there itself is a figment of someone's imagination.

This whole story is like a play written to entertain the kings of those times. It is not just Anarkali who is fictitious, but all of them, Akbar, Jodha, Salim, everyone is fictional(kind of like an alter ego of the real person). They may bear the names of the real people or loosely connected to them, but they are just playing a part in this imaginary love story. The focus is not on history or the supporting characters, but only on the love story of Salim and Anarkali, which never really happened. Kind of like a "what if".

cvs are marketing this as a love story and no way are saying that it is historical. :) :)
