I don't know, maybe I am wrong, but obviously we can't ignore that fact. Only Chuck Norris can tell how in the hell DID selects it's contestants

@Others, idk why everyone is stuck on only one detail and not seeing the whole picture I went for 😕 These are few of the same people who used to write Urvashi shouldn't be in top 18 and now all of a sudden when she is related to Jai, we should stop picking on her 😆

@pigbelly Yes she is most definitely Jai's student 😛

Anywhoo, have fun guys 😊

They are two different things !!! Her personal life / whose bf/ gf they are - has nothing to do with her dance/ performace / selection / stay in the show. Thats what we are trying to say here 😆

That's pretty much it 😕 What better example than Urvashi? That girl has been performing mediocre since day 1, and she's enjoying her stay like a boss. Not to mention, she is Jai Kumar Nair's student-cum-assistant-cum-girlfriend 😳 And others, like Sneha and Lipsa who are probably the strongest of girls and perform awesomely each week get eliminated.

So to pretty much survive in DID, never perform well and always look good. 👍🏼
Great work Zee production team 👏

urvashi n jai r together? i thought they were besties

I think you may have missed the point some people were trying to make. No one was trying to say that you should not criticize Urvashi or single her out at all. Many people do agree that she has unfairly survived while other much better dancers have been eliminated.

What people had an objection to is targeting her over her connections to Jai. Jai is honestly not that connected to influence the stay of his friends/students on the show. Moreover, other contestants/affiliates have had their students on the show. Most importantly no one has any clue on the logic utilized by makers of DID. Who they select, who they keep, who they eliminate is a mystery. Feel free to criticize and point out anyone who is undeserving to be there, but do it strictly on the basis of what we see on screen. It is Ok to bring in connections/relationships etc in humor – but when you fixate on it, it becomes unfair and gossipy. Bottom line is, no one has a problem with criticizing or targeting Urvashi – just do it on the right and fair basis.

The other point of contention some people might have is the insinuation of a relationship between Jai and Urvashi based on his FB messages. "I Love you, I'm proud of you" are words of endearment and affection. Some people never say such things unless they are really close to someone. But many people express such things frequently to close friends and people they care for and it carries no romantic weight. A good rule of thumb is always to try and avoid discussing social media or external media in general unless the main focus is actually the dance, the show and the content.

I know that, and I got that...but that is not even what my overall topic is about, I just wanted to widen the reasons why someone survives in DID, and it's a known fact connections play one of the biggest roles in it. I had taken Urvashi as an overall example so I decided to merely mention her connections with DID contestants, and the fact that she has connections with previous DID student(s) is not a co-incidence, I'm sure it plays some part in her being in DID, no matter how small.

But when did I ever criticize her based on her personal life?? Did I ever say she's a bad performer because Jai doesn't give bring her flowers everyday? 😕 It was only few days ago that I came to know she's connected to him, I have been criticizing her since the beginning.

Yes, if you read my messages properly I NEVER said Urvashi is Jai's girlfriend because Jai posts those statuses, I only mentioned it for the general knowledge of people because someone earlier had said "they don't believe Urvashi is connected to Jai". And his statuses proves that she is. 😆

@TOG

It is not always explicit words, but implicit meaning that make a difference. From your verbiage it came off as you were more fixated on the Jai connection, rather than other criticisms. It also came off that you wanted to link them in a gossipy way. Of course, I believe that your intent was not to gossip or make a big deal about Jai, but give fair objective criticism that she does not deserve to be there. But it just came off very differently in the topic. Miscommunications, misunderstandings happen on a forum, no biggie. Just pointing it out.😊

The only person who said Jai and Urvashi have no connection as far as I can see is pigsbelly4myfeet who said "Please...I refuse to believe that Urvashi is Jai's student. Jai and Urvashi have no comparison as dancers. Jai was just too awesome and Urvashi is simply average". Which again I think highlights explicit words and implicit meaning. It was like a hyperbole. They don't actually think there is no connection, the implicit meaning is "Urvashi is so mediocre that it is hard to believe she was trained by the very talented Jai" [At least that's how I interpret it ' and on an ADD side note pigsbelly4myfeet is a very intriguing userid, it makes me picture a person with many layers of bacon wrapped on their feet instead of shoes and socks]

LOL Thanks for clearing that out. That is essentially what I meant, although I really didn't realize that casual comment of mine would've been highlighted like that. Clearly I have no idea who has connections with whom on this show. And I could care less. I don't have these people's facebook accounts and what not and I really couldn't care what they do in their personal lives. I just comment on what I see on screen. And the Urvashi-Jai comparison just struck me as ironic . I mean really, can you even compare the two? Jai was a legend in season 1 and Urvashi is just forgettable. What I mean is, it's literally like two ends of a pole here. 😕 I just failed to even grasp that connection for a sec. It was so out of the blue. 😕

Plus my point was that this season is ALL randomness. There really is no set pattern here...regarding connections/looks and what not. There really hasn't been ANY basis provided this season for the selection process even! I mean the start of the auditions themselves was mediocre. I have a problem with the selection process only. It makes me think...is there genuinely a lack of good talent out there in India? That seems to be highly unlikely...or is the selection process on this show just strange? 😕 Honestly, forget elimination! When has elimination ever been fair on reality shows in general? And DID is certainly no exception to that as we've seen in the past seasons. But why are such AVERAGE dancers even getting selected? Dancers that have ZERO personality and confidence on stage whatsoever!!! Heck, I don't even care about the training...sure training does polish a dancer by a lot...but even that BASIC spirit/personality while dancing! 90% of the dancers this season don't even have that?!?! I can't seem to even move beyond this point actually...is this really the standard for the supposed "best" dance reality show in India? 😕

@ the italicized part: Just the attractive image I was going for...glad to hear that my user ID sparks your imagination like that. LOL Umm thanks?
