Why Terence could not recognize his mom

Two weeks ago it was Geeta's show when she choreographed all the dances and Farah Khan came on the show. She closed Geeta's eyes and Geeta in turn recognized Farah instantly and shouted 'Mamma'. And Mithun Da commented that 'this is mother's love, Farah just touched her and Geeta could know who it was'.
I am really surprised that if Geeta could recognize Farah, who is her mother by choice, why could Terence not recognize his mother or her hands when she closed his eyes, who is his mother by birth. I understand all these surprises on the show are staged, but I still feel it should have been shown that Terence was able to feel his mother's hands. I feel bad for Terence's mother that her son could not recognize her touch.
Just my opinion

No, I dont think there is anything like that. I think it is simply about attachment. I am closer to my grandma, then my mom. So, it is just how you are.

I don't know about Terrence but Geeta recognized Farah's hands not solely because of love but because she knew that it was Farah Khan, it was staged because when Salman and Sunita performed, they even had a segment where they were like, Farah mam this is for you, and they did all of Farah Khan's popular moves.
Maybe Terrence didn't know his mom was coming, or more likely, it was staged that way so he can act all surprised. Reality shows are not all reality😆

Oh crap, I didn't even realize that!! Of course, Geeta had to know Farah was coming if she did a dedication for her...makes sense now!

he said geeta and his mother had really similar hands...
anyway, if you haven't seen your mother in a long time, she probably woudn't be the first person you guess. i mean, i can't recognized anyone by their hands. i would just guess whoever was close by at that moment.
