After a long time, I went on the Official DID website... I was going through the comments for each contestant and then found out that religion has again become an issue....

I was surfing Salman's section and saw all the garbage comments written by this guy named Pal... But then again, some other guy from Pakistan wrote that the entire Pakistan would only vite for Salman just becuz he's a Muslim... and then Gujrat riots and what not (completely irrelevant to DID) came in...

I fail to understand this... Whenever a minoirty (especially a muslim) tries to be in the limelight, why exactly does it become an issue in India... Why is it a controversial topic... And what has Pakistan to do with all this...

This is just making me sick. I had a gut feeling this would happen... and it did!

As an Indian, I really am shocked! I didn't see these comments in Paulson's section... All I trying to say is, please vote for the talent, not for someone based on religion and race and what not..

Cruizer...hats off to you for opening this topic. But religion aspect in Salmans voting has come long ago. Lot of people are voting him just because of that. I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings but fact is fact. For those who do that look down your heart and see if you are bias on that aspect or not.

That was expected and I am not surprised at all.
Its time that the younger people from India-Pakistan and any other countrydo not follow the same steps that the older people have been doing and inducing hatred.
If at all by being fair and rational, they ould prove that talent goes beyond geographical boundaries.
It is sad that Zee is promoting this as well.

Its my observation over the past in some of the posts. Don't want to make this an issue, so lets keep it at that.

Agree with desicrowd-this already is an issue, too late to stop it now. and mind you zee has played a massive role in this propaganda. I wish he would get voted for his talent, not his bacjground/looks/how his family are like.
Dunno what else to say, it's India-Pakistan, what else can we expect other than this? Been going on for centuries and doesn't show a sign of stopping any time soon.
It's a very sensitive issue anyway so won't dwell too much on it, just hope people truly are voting for India's best dancer!

India-Pakistan going on for centuries?. One of the reasons why Muslims will support Salman is because he's Muslim, it's as simple as that, they have a concept of the "Ummah", the worldwide Islamic community, and each Muslim is a brother/sister to another, so they look out for one another.

Another reason is that many Pakis seem to be under the impression that Muslims are ill-treated in India, and as Muslims, they believe they need to "defend" their "brothers" and "sisters".

Thanks for the reply. Firstly need to point out that the term 'paki' in UK is considered racist, not sure about where you are? so you might wanna edit that for starters. I don't see why anyone would be silly enough to think that especially when it was Indians in the first place who got him on the show disregarding any sort of discrimination! Dance doesn't look at caste/creed it looks at you as a performers, as an entertainer and as an overall packagae. :) At the end of the day most of the votes are coming from India anyway which shows everyone likes him not just pakistanis. I'm not denying the fact that some of them do think that, and that is quite evident with some comments on DID site but i'm sure the majority don't. It's wrong to judge a community's act on the basis of the odd rotten apples. and yes, i am hoping it is just the odd few.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not accusing the Indian Muslims or Pakistani's of any prejudices in their voting, I'm only addressing those minority who abuse one another, who use religion as an excuse for their hatred.

Yep, seen that happen way too often..
on a more lighter note, I wonder if he's topped voting again this week? or has sunita beaten him to it again or will we see a new entry?
