Yes Shruthi, it has become a fashion for the daily saas bahu soap makers to show Ram in bad light, so cleverly without showing the truth that it was Sita who left the palace for her husband's pride and name in the kingdom ,Ram never asked her to do so. Yes Ram asked her for agnipariksha even though he was assured about her purity ,but he did that beacuse he knew that if Sita doesnot do that then she will have to take the wrath of society. he wanted Sita to be respected by all as she was the going to be the Queen of Ayodhya. that is the respect every husband wants for his wife, he wants his family and relatives to respect her without any prejudice. The society is still very harsh for women then just imagine how it would have been some thousand years ago. Ram was the heir of kingdom of Ayodhya and power brings lots of responsibilty towards the people. Look at Namo also, he himself is taking all the wrath of the citizens but working day n night for the people of his country coz he knows that he cannot be like them.

There are numerous versions of ramayana and it is for everyone, one can see it as they want to see. My hindi teacher used to say , do read atleast a page of ramayana n geeta on daily basis, as they show the reality of society. Today also in my daily life i can relate to so many sequences of ramayana n mahabharata to my life. These were not religious books, but a way of life. They showed that their is a very sleek line which differentiates good with bad.

Even Ravan was a great scholar and the greatest shiv bhaqt as they have shown Iftkaar too..he is so clever , intelligent, religious, focused on his goal.. but he lies on same page as Ravana.. Ravana did the mistake of using his power against Sita and iftkaar did it by using all his clever skills against innocent humans. i feel the terrorists all over the world are the asurs protrayed in ramayana, they take their share of pleasure by killing innocents as the asurs did.

@ Shru, I will tell you my perception of Mahabaratha and Ramanaya (You used both as references today and hence this post 😆).
Although written ages ago, I think these epics saw the future most accurately. They answered questions which we can find answers and relevance to even today-
1. Your base principles have to be morally right. But it is not wrong to lie to establish a truth or it is not wrong to lie to establish justice
2. You don't become immoral if you use immoral ways to bring down evil. After all, like they say, diamond cuts diamond
3. Women are always equal to men. If we think otherwise, we are wrong.
4. Every human makes mistakes. No one is an exception to this
5. It is always your actions and choices that lead you where you are. God keeps a tab of it, but you do have a say in the choices you make. You can choose to be right or wrong. And your end reward will be befitting.

Simple stuff... but finds relevance even today.

I know many of us think that Ram was wrong in asking Sita to walk through fire when her honor was questioned. But I think we are all sort of confused about what we want in our own lives. When it suits our purpose, we want to be independent making our own choices, but the minute trouble knocks on the door, we want our partners to stand by our side. Why? If Sita was Ram;s equal, then why was it wrong for him to give her an opportunity to defend her own honor. He in fact gave her respect by asking her to do it. He knew she will not fail, and he proved to the world that Sita did not need him to defend her honor. He was no bigger than she was. I think that is amazing.

@Sur - apparently we landed up saying the same stuff although we worded it differently... 😃

@sur and priti you have summed up the epics accurately. See what I understood is you can do below the belt for defense if the attack is below the belt because mathematically negative *negative is only positive. if a below the belt attack is defended straight forward below the belt attack wins or adharma or negative wins as negative *positive is negative and we should never do below the belt attack on others if they are good people though we may win initially there will come a time who will know the principle that below the belt can be used for defense and then we will not be able to stand upto that person. The knowledge below the belt only for defense in a below to belt attack is the thin line between good and bad. Many times people do straight defense for below the belt attack and cry they have won. Problem of majority of people who say I didn't do any wrong, why I am suffering.
See below the belt attack is a difficult proposition for any person with conscience. But at times you have to do it, not for you, but for the larger victory of dharma.

What amazing dimensions surfacing from the epics which can be held as reference points to relate the tales of today. In the recent Mahabaratha the episode where Krishna sames Panchali the reference he makes to the atrocities committed on women need to defend it . Krishna in that sense is the inner awareness that helps one differentiate the right from the wrong . If it is possible to establish the sanctity of the good over evil by resorting to manipulation so be it. The codes of battle that were laid down were violated while fighting the young Abhimanyu. The moment of setting up the chakravyuha was when the attention of Krishna and Arjuna is on dealing with other aspects of their Dharma. Nara and Narayana descended as Krishna and Arjuna together they were a great force. They could have averted the slaying of Abhimanyu but by distracting them the opponent sought to settle scores.
Abhimanyu was attacked at the most vulnerable moment when the entire Pandava force convinced him they were behind him and would be the troops stealthily entering. Asad had been enlisted, he broke the Chakravuha set up by the terrorists and immediately troops were summoned. The troops however failed to shield the innocent kid from the heartless Kauravas. In that sense the special task force, the Police force and the administrative set up, civil society, media all are tainted for the heinous crime.
The battle would rage. Dharma would be manipulated to utter the lie to his Guru of Ashwathama the Elephant being dead. The deafening tumult and roarof Bhima silencing the word elephant...That transforms Dharma from a human extrodinaire to a mortal and his chariot is said to have landed on terra firma for that one lie. The chariot which till then floated above the ground.
The was the fall of Dharma. Adarsh will slip too. That will become the turning point. Arjuna feels let down and can find peace only when Abhimanyu's killers are brought down.
Adarsh perceives Abhay as Abhimanyu and Swadeentha Asad.
The reason why the game was brought in by Shradhha, Dedication...is to present how the two Adarsh and Swadeentha were attached to whom and for what values they represented,
The values which Asad and Mamu represent to Swadeentha has been tainted and she is on her path of doing her Karma ...to clear them.
She has to be up in arms against all who are dear to her.
Suhasini like Kunthi did to Karna may try to distract Swadeentha. Arjuna and Karna are said to be identical except in the fact that one associated himself with the wrong cause.
We will hear an interpretation of law, justice and what human values need to be restored...that will be the sermon in the battle field ...the values by which Adarsh and Swadeentha will lead their life thereafter.

@Moon - Amazing. I had completely missed the fact that although subtle, there was really a reason why Shraddha was brought back. Yes. Shraddha is dedication. And "Dedication" introduced the game of who inspired whom in life. The irony at the moment is the Adarsh who draws inspiration from a tainted man thinks he is more right than Swadheenta who draws her inspiration by a person who died a hero. Man, will the tables turn 😊
Amazing 👏

@moon I was also thinking why Shradda. I knew the meaning, but couldn't place her. You connected it beautifully. Adarsh Sinha has been following a tainted man just like Dharma who was following Bhishma who only spoke principles but never acted on them.
Whereas for Swa her inspiration was her brother, though carefree yet lovable and he saved people. 2 blasts were averted because of his info. And his alertness. See in giving justice to Asad, Swa is giving justice to Abhay also. They both are Abhimanyu's for me. She will bring Abhay's killer.
And then Suha can cry like Kunti . If she had the courage to tell about Karna, then she could have averted the major disaster.

Well said👏 Hats off to the show for showing a character like Swadeentha, who stands by her belief and how a lawyer should be.

Hello Shruti
I have been a silent reader on this forum offlate mostly here to read your analysis only but today I would like to voice on something I have been thinking since a while. I would like to second your thoughts on Abhay being Abhi and Swadheentha being Parth analogy. But I feel here Adarsh is not Vaasudev because as per my understanding of Vaasudev I see him as the driving force who guides Parth towards his duty. He himself doesn't indulge into the war physically for he has an oath of not using weapons. But he will drive him towards the progress by acting according to the need of the hour. May it be trying to explain him in a great detail by imparting the knowledge of Gita, by going against the oath by lifting a wheel against Bhishma, by driving him away towards the Trigratha king on the 13 th Day of the war or by pressing the chariot 2 feet into the ground when nagastra was used against him by the deceit of Karna. Sometimes he told him and the other times he acted in a way that Parth's reflexes were such that the greater purpose would be solved.
Here I see Padmasree as Krishna because she is the one who first made Swa realise her stand in this situation and helped her come out of the shock. She is the one who provoked her when she was confused in the ground feeding the birds.Just the way Krishna provoked Parth by lifting the wheel against Bhishma. I see her as Swadheenta's driving force. But here I see Adarsh as Yuddhisthir because he has a belief system and it has to change. It might not necessarily be wrong but sometimes things get distorted to an extent that one must clean the mist of their lense and see beyond what is "evident" and "right". So now it is Swa's battle to Establish righteousness and punish the sinners while Paddy would be her driving force. Also, they have to battle to convince Adarsh towards their motive. Because in future his one "lie" might be the key for them towards victory.

PS: I might aswell be wrong on my analogy but this is what I felt from the ongoing course of events.

Btw I love your posts sruthi. They are simply awesome.

@EI at present I am only taking Padmashree as Krishna and Adarsh is Dharmaputra. But for me Adarsh will turn vasudev he has to.
If you see Krishna has 2 aspects, God and friend. The God aspect, the destiny's card, the awakening it will be done by Padmashree.
But friend aspect, creating the illusion, breaking the promise of not taking weapon on 14th day that will be Adarsh. I will put this in today's analysis
