Well I've a slightly different interpretation of how things played out , I saw the episode twice to make sure I didn't miss out on anything.
Akarsh proposed Jhanvi at 16 and got rejected . Both families say they know each other since childhood. So it's fairly logical to say , Akarsh gets her ( as in understands her or her thought processes . ) Jhanvi was adamantly spurning his advances all these times till a few days ago . Yes she definitely is attracted to Akarsh and he can clearly see that too and that's why he was into all this engagement and marriage drama but hey it's also very very true that Jhanvi herself has a monumental ego . Plus she's convinced that she hates Akash . She basically called Akash a desperate creep and stalker whenever he tried to get close to her and she lost grip on herself in his proximity .
So why this kaya palat all of a sudden ??
I know tv shows portray their MLs as immature imbeciles , even when they're supposed to be highly successful and shrewd in their respective careers but in practical day to day life they're shown as fools . That's the usual trope. 😆
But here the FL and ML both are different from the usual trope. Akarsh is no dimwit . When Jhanvi was confessing her feelings for the 1st time . Akarsh was keenly observing her face and he looked thoughtful and analytic . He was not uying her sudden confession , well good for him !
Jhanvi changed track a bit too fast for it to sound even a little believable . Had I been in place of Akarsh , I would've smelt a rat too and that's what exactly happened. She gave herself away . She thinks she's too smart and Akash couldn't see right through her but he totally did. 😆
So he took a step forward and tried to get close . It was with the intention to see her reaction only and nothing else and the moment she turned her face away , NOT blushing or with a smile the way girls usually do with their lovers in this situation, but instead with evident discomfort and unease , Akarsh's suspicion was confirmed that Jhanvi is lying .
So he said those enraging lines because like I said he understands Jhanvi and knows exactly how to bring out a reaction , hoping that in her anger and denial she'd tell him why she's doing this drama of love.
Jhanvi indeed gave an explanation , but I'm sorry to say , though it looked genuine , we all know those lines were so weirdly helter skelter that they didn't make any sense whatsoever.
So obviously Akarsh , who by now knew Jhanvi is playing a game with him , probably to reject him once again , decided to give her a taste of her own medicine and frankly speaking , I don't blame him at all for it. It's pretty much unforgivable what Jhanvi is doing with Akarsh , basically treated him like trash all the time despite him always being the 1st one to help her out in any tricky situation and then suddenly deciding to marry him because of a freaking Mangalsutra , basically toying with his feelings and the holy institution of marriage. I lost complete respect for her when I find out what she intends to do .
Just imagine a guy trying a marry Jhanvi for a piece of family heirloom , for some deemed "greater good." 🤢 I'd call it criminal offense. You can't save and enrich lives of a child on the ruins of another person's who has always been nice and kind to you and your family and endured your tantrums.
Veers plan is at least much more humane , bring out Nandini's truth in front of Akarsh and then propose her.

I don't think any thing happened in that room between Akarsh and Nandini , come one , Akarsh has eyes ( and every thing else only and only for Jhanvi )

But there's a moral to the story - some times we cut away the branch on top of which we're sitting because of our own blind folly. Just imagine , how easy it all could've been for Jhanvi . Akarsh is deewana for her , at least he was till she literally slapped him out of it . As fate would have it , had she been at least polite and friendly towards him minus those bouts of extreme rudeness that he so not deserves , she had that dude wrapped around her pinky but alas !

Actually both seem to be at fault. Akarsh very well knew that Jhanvi like him and is affected by his decision of marrying him and he somewhere knew she would accept it before marriage so her coming to tell him that she was affected seeing him with Nandini was quite expected from her from his side. The thing which I found bad about Akarsh in Sunday epi was that he actually thought Jhanvi was marrying him for money. If he knows her from childhood, he would know that Jhanvi rejected his expensive gifts and if she was after him money, she wpuld have accepted him proposal long back. And niether did she did some play hard to get drama to get him or something. She rejected his watch and went to Delhi for her studies.
Jhanvi's insecurity seems justified, looking at the way he is around his female friends. She saw Nandini close to him, she saw his female friends calling him baby.
Rest I felt Akarsh was absolutely right to ask her to confess for one to show that she genuinly loved him when he has actually done so much to come closer to her.
Jhanvi too has male friends, but her closeness with her male friends is different from Akarsh's closeness from his friends. Thats is just how these two are brought up in different environment.
Even Akarsh not stopping Nandini from getting that close to him looks ott. I felt those lipstick marks would be fake.
Honestly Akarsh loves Jhanvi, and him going forward with marriage is also making mockery of marriage.
Jhanvi only proposed for mangalsutra which is like playing with his emotions but her emotions when he belittled her profession and called her gold digger indirectly actually hurt her a lot and she said what she actually felt. And somewhere she was right about her feelings. Its like both are right now playing with each other's emotions directly/indirectly.
It looks like they both have one trait in common that is they both are stubborn. Jhanvi knows she loves Akarsh as she herself keeps on asking herself why she feels bad seeing Akarsh close with Nandini but she is too stubborn to accept him.
Then AKarsh also has some ego and is still affected by the previous rejection as he continuously says mujhe naa sunne ki aadat nahi hai. He does has a air about being rich and felt so confident that Jhanvi would accept him since he is rich. Else Jhanvi herself said they were just schoolmates and never friends. He never tried to know her.
But I am glad they both are somewhere wrong and somewhere right. This makes their characters more real.
And Jhanvi is very conservative and Akarsh coming to kiss her like that would have shocked her even if it was a real confession. Both of them seem have different interpretation of love. As they even said in Sunday epi, Akarsh seems to have more outgoing interpretation of love where he expects his loved ones to go all out in all ways for him, and Jhanvi seems to have quite surreal and simple kind of definition where she assumes love should be felt and showing it off so outwardly is not necessary if its felt deep in heart.

unfortunately writer's showed nothing of the sort you have explained so well for akarsh's character. They never portrayed his scenes well enough for the audience to get the understanding you have shown in your writing of his character. I did feel there was something cut between jhanvi turning away from akarsh's kiss to akarsh insulting her. His scenes are lazily written to show zero depth or reasoning to his actions.

@Bold in blue- literally everything I highlighted is everything that i have felt about the two. If anyone has made a mockery of marriage it is akarsh. he knows he loves jhanvi so what is the point of trying to force a confession out of her by taking such a major step of proposing marriage to another girl? Marriage isn't a joke. And like you I also agree with akarsh having tried to test how genuine her confession is with the challenge and kiss attempt because of how abrupt and out of the blue her confession was when earlier that day she was still showing him that she doesn't care about him and nandini's closeness. He was bound to be suspicious and that was understandable, but I still say he was completely out of line with what he said to her. Jhanvi's accusations on him are justified given his play-boy type behaviour in front of her etc and ego over his money, but he proved her accusations with proposing nandini only a few days before confessing love to jhanvi plus the accusations he threw at jhanvi.

Why even accuse jhanvi of wanting him for money, when all this time she was rejecting him despite knowing he was rich unlike all those other girls that run after him, plus he gives attention to other attention-seeking girls like nandini who he knows give him all this attention only because he is wealthy. His accusation was nonsense given he's never accused those other girls who always cling to him of being gold diggers, so why only accuse nandini? Because she's the only girl who has ever rejected him instead of running after him? That just makes it all even clearer that it's all about ego,

Really ? 😲😕
All the time , while watching the episode I was thinking it was Jhanvi who was behaving like a entitled b**ch to be frank . I mean , she wants to marry Akarsh for a 'mangalsutra' after rejecting and insulting him day in and day out...that too when she had no confirmation of the fact that this said 'mangalsutra' can actually help to kill/destroy the dayan(s?) . I meran how casual you can be with a guy's future/his feelings ? He takes Akarsh completely taken for granted...takes her help whenever she needs it...for her, her family, her voodoo Uncle, any orphan boy...uses him however she choses it to fit...Akarsh even tolerated getting blamed by Jhanvi's sister-in-law's mother for sending Bablu in their home, in the hospital, yet he didn't utter a single word...where just hours back Jhanvi insulted him, bad-mouthed him, blamed him for trying to get close to her, accused him of having ill-intention...frankly speaking either Akarsh has not a thread of self-respect or this guy is in too deep...that'd be the only explanation for him being still head-over-heels in love with her...
And of course it was very clearly shown that Akarsh suspected Jhanvi of having other intentions while proposing him...that's why he said those words about her wanting to get married to him for money...he wanted her to blurt out the truth...or a semblance of it...
I don't want Akarsh to melt this quickly and agree to get married to Jhanvi...just because she is physically hurt/wounded right now...she has an absolutely lame(frankly horrible ) reason to want to get married to him...if it was a guy in Jhanvi's place and doing the same thing...by now I would have tore him apart verbally . 😆

Absolutely disliked the way Jhanvi suddenly said that Akarsh is "nihayati battameez", when she was also dancing with him and a second ago was actually lost in him. It looks like Jhanvi dont wanna fall in love with Akarsh right now but inspite of trying hard she is not able to control her feelings towards him which is frustrating her. She is too stubborn to accept her feelings inspite of knowing that she likes Akarsh. As for mangalsutra thing, she actually doesn't seem to have time. She went to temple, read book, confirmed with Akarsh about the mangalsutra which was enough for her to confirm that mangalsutra can actually help her save kids life from Daayan's trap, and then when she saw Nandini talking about the mangalsutra to the same lady she saw before once working for daayan, she knew that mangalsutra was indeed the only thing right now which could help her save the kids. She needs to get that mangalsutra before puranmashi. She tried other means like taking Nandini's help but when she got to know that Nandini is involved with Daayan or she is the daayan herself, Jhanvi had no other option but to marry akarsh at any cost. Till the time Jhanvi didnt know Nandini's true intentions, she didn't come in between her and Akarsh.
Akarsh has been with Jhanvi throughout her stay in Ujjain, saved her from falling off cliff, from possessed child, about her keeping a child in home, seen her completely scared and distraught in changing room, he could have also figured out something is off. He has refused her, and that is quite right if he doubted her but his way of demeaning her profession and telling her that she was after her money was not nice. Jhanvi's reaction to that was real.
Jhanvi and Akarsh are schoolmates but they are not friends that is what Jhanvi said. They have known each other since 15 years and yet know nothing about each other. That is where the differences crop in.
Jhanvi's hesitation to accept him is also understandable as he may be a very nice guy and helped her throughout that is why she trusts him and she has always acknowledged his help and thanked him but so does her friends, or family. Her friends too help her be it Tanya/Rakes/Veer. For accepting him as a partner, she needs to trust him and his loyalty, which she can't because of the image he has built. His initital interaction with Jhanvi when Jhanvi accidentally came into his room and he said how he couldn't find a girl like her till now made Jhanvi a little mesmerised but very next moment, Nandini comes and he says wherever he meets Nandini, the place becomes special. That moment, Jhanvi said so that is how he speaks to all girls(and not just her). Then his female friends addressing him as baby and all. No girl would like such things. Jhanvi does have male friends but she maintains friendly distance from them whereas as for Akarsh that is not the same. So her thinking that he may not be serious about her is understandable.
The main problem is both of them are way too stubborn. When Akarsh is in his senses, Jhanvi loses hers and when Jhanvi is in her senses, Akarsh loses his. Also they like each other but no one seem to know each other and no one is trying to even know each other. If Akarsh knew Jhanvi, he would have known she is going through something, like her friends noticed, because Akarsh has saved her every time from every attack of Daayan and seen her in most vulnerable and scared condition. Not daayan, but he would have thought that may be someone is after her. Because her condition especially outside changing room was terrible, she was all in sweats and terrified and what assumption he gave? She is doing all this to come close to him when it was he who insisted on her help in shopping. And he definitely would not have thought that Jhanvi would marry him for money if he knew her. And had Jhanvi tried to know him, she would have known like Akarsh's close ones that she is special to him.

Well I find his character perfectly reasonable and totally relatable so far . It's Jhanvi's character which I can't seem to relate with increasingly . Which is very sad , since initially her character showed some mature and sensible traits which are really rare in an Indian Telly FL standard plus Tina is my favorite actress and I'd waited a long time for her return to tv as a solo lead. This bride swap will probably push me to take a break .

I find nothing wrong with what Akarsh told her , she had it coming for her last few days extreme rudeness , tantrums and now fake confession to achieve a mangalsutra. In fact , I'm glad that Aksh is not some weak doormat who'd take baseless humiliation lying down and won't retaliate . Jhanvi just got a dose of her own medicine and I really enjoy it. 😆 It was such a delight to see her toiling hard to convince him of her love , some thing that Akarsh is doing all these years . 😳 Now the wearer is feeling exactly where and how the shoe pinches. 😉

P.S. It was crude of Jhanvi to raise hand on Akarsh , no matter what he had said and how agitated and provoked she was at that moment . It was wrong , just like it's wrong if Akarsh had raised his hand on Jhanvi in a fit of rage .
We women go around crying for equal rights and all , and yet we think it's fine to hit a dude and not get slapped back in return becoz Women are fairer sex. I find it truly double standard . 🥱 Hitting a person , unless really necessary as in self defense is wrong irrespective of the gender. 🥱

I was scratching my head and thinking if the daayan had possessed his body. 😕

As I said, yes he was harsh with his words and it was uncalled for. But her reactions are uncalled for too, like slapping him or name calling him.

Both are fools. 😆

Succinctly put . Although in her defence she is a KIS Girl. So it makes sense her acting that way
