Palestinian country or state never existed - as a geographical region yes, but not as an independent state

The Palestinian cause is a reaction to the Jewish cause.

This is what Zuheir Mohsen said

The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity.

You are playing the semantics game, Betty smiley1

Yes, Palestine hasn't achieved full sovereignty or statehood but political and diplomatic negotiations are ongoing. In 2012, the UN General Assembly granted non-member observer state status to Palestine which was seen as a step toward international recognition of a Palestinian state, although it did not grant full sovereignty.

Taiwan too is not recognized as a sovereign country by the way (if you don't count the 13 or so "insignificant" countries that recognized it). But we all root for Taiwan, don't we?

I am against the apartheid and oppression of the Palestinian people by the government of Israel. Yes, many Palestinians were displaced as a result of the new formed state of Israel in 1947.

The point I was trying to make

the Palestinians are not fighting to reclaim their nation as many say but to create a new nation

Unless you think I am wrong again...

I understand that you are saying that recognition by existing states in the international community is what matters and Palestine is an unrecognized (partially recognized) sovereign state as of today.

I think the others too know/understand it. They are arguing more on "what was" than "what is".

I think half of their population is Palestinian
