Dravid did his best today, no complaints. But the bottom line is he is not a good captain, he is too soft. Dada had the attitude, agression to an extent and he knew when to dress down players when they are not performing. As a captain you need to be strict to an extent, you need to be independent, make the team your own, inspire them make them believe even when there is no hope. Dada did that, I still remember this one match when he was yelling at the fielders for not doing their job. It was funny to watch, I was impressed. There are times when that is necessary, Dravid doesnt have that in him, those leadership qualities. But as a batsman, as a steady player I think he gets the job done. It is Tendulkar and Dhoni who needs some serious butt kicking.
But half of this team needs to retire. We need seriously new talent in the bowling department. We are the worst bowling team, compared to the elites. And someone mentioned players get paid too much, it is all about the money know. Where is their inspiration, motivation, their patriotic spirit. Tendulkar is so rich why doesnt he retire when he knows he doesnt got it no more. Time to move on. I am not saying he is too old, Jayasuriya is 37, but look at his attitude on field he is an inspiration, Tendulkar puts you to sleep.
The point is India is never again going to win the world cup for another 50 years if we dont get our act together, stop playing politics, teach discipline to the players, make them full time inspirational athletes, stop match fixing, betting and any underworld connections, get a good coach. Many have forgotten that Cricket is still a sport, not just a money making machine. Well anyways I am done venting.

I love the man, but I STILL feel he is to be blamed for today's loss. SO WHAT if he made 60 rums, shouldn't he have been able to motivate the team and bring them together far before the world cup enough to make men who can fight tooth and nail like the Aussies. Instead he has only performed himself and not motivated his team enough for them to taste Victory. He has led a disjointed team to WestINdies and THAT is why HE DOES need to be blamed.

well he did get 60 runs and accordingly to how everyone else played, thats the best...but if u compare him to the aussies then our whole team looks like a bunch or babies who have no idea what they r doing on the cricket field. we do need to improve. some of the players need to get out and sum need to sum back in. our captain and coaches both need to try hard. this loss was a very disappointing one.

See THAT I agree with COMPLETELY Team India DOES look like a bunch of idiots if you were to compare them to the Aussies but wasn't this the same team india led by dada that went into the finals with the Aussies.

So you see Dravid is to be blamed, he didn't lose the World cup today he lost it long before when he took over as Captain and along with Greg started experimenting with him. He should have stood by dada back then, fine dada needed time out to get his groove back. But there is such a thing as Karma it comes back to bite you in the ass in this life itself. He should have stood by his captain and said that I'll be the stand in captain now,he is intelligent enough he should have known that he is a FAR FAR Better player than a CAPTAIN

hmmmm i guess ur right......but no1 else had much experience after rahul to take up as a captain.....anil kumble is very experienced...but captaincy??? dont noe about that....

ganguly needed that time out.......after ganguly......who was there to become captain?? i dont think any1 else had the tendency to do it......so i guess it wasnt a choice....rahul HAD to take it up for his team....

Dravid is not to be blamed he tried his best but they should have batted first cos India is not really good at chasing. I was very upset with Dhoni, Sachin and Ganguly. Sehwag just cannot play spinners when he tried to defend he got out. They forgot they are playing one day cricket for them it was more like a test match.

This is not fair...Dravid was truly his best today...be it placing the fielders... to batting and supporting his players...but the rest of the team ditched him...a very poor team effort...I think Indian media should be reprimanded for blaming it Dravid...Jayawardhana never spoonfed his team mates...its the srilankan team players who put in their best foot on the field...I appreciate Dravid for captaining this inconsistent and fickle team...Finally, looking at Dravid's disappointed face was more disheartening than losing this match for me!!!
