The toss is coming in 25 minutes. Rohit Sharma will return as captain and is set to bat in the middle order. Shubman Gill is expected to play as well. Australia are making one change with Scott Boland in for the injured Josh Hazlewood. Mitch Marsh is expected to bowl but only if needed. Here is Gnasher's Test preview.

Amit: "How Imp is toss at Adelaide? Bumrah managed to win toss at that the team batting first. How is the scenario for Rohit?" Often a good place to bat first.

Gnasher observing the warm-up: "India's three frontline spinners have all had a little bowl on one of the side pitches. Who gets the nod for this game has been the other major selection chat for the visitors. Ashwin has a good record at the ground."

Vaibhav: "Hoping to see Akash Deep also back in the squad in place of Harshit. Nothing against Rana, but Akash has shown great control over the seam and swing, which can be crucial here. "

India have won the toss and have opted to bat

Pat Cummins: Yeah that's right (when asked if he would have batted first), but day one, pink ball, you never know, there might be a bit of nip for us. It's always good to have a fresh start. It's a venue where we really love playing. Pink ball can be a little bit different than the red ball. Everyone can look back at the success that we've had in past games, really excited. We weren't at our best last week, it's been a really good preparation, the boys are itching to get out there. Maybe little more sing, it's pretty muggy today. Just one change. Josh Hazlewood misses, Scott Boland comes in.

Rohit Sharma: We are going to bat first. Looks a good pitch, looks a bit dry at the moment, enough grass covering as well. It'll have some carry for the fast bowlers. As the game goes on, it'll get better to bat on. There will be something in it for everyone. It's going to be a good game. I have been here for two weeks now. Had a good hit in the nets, played a game as well, ready to go now. (Mood in the dressing room) It is pretty good, pretty vibrant. We've played a really good Test match in Perth, it was superb to watch from the outside. What the boys did was superb. It's just about carrying that into this Test match. It's a long series, we just want to focus on how we can get the results in our favour, we'll try and do most things right in this game. I am happy, the fast bowlers are happy as well (with the break). The breaks are welcome. Momentum is also important. We want to carry from where we left. We have made 3 changes. I am back, Gill is back. Ashwin is back. I am batting in the middle order which is different, but I am ready for the challenge.

Jaiswal and Rahul are at the crease. Jaiswal is on strike. Mitchell Starc will open the attack

Wicket first ball!

Former Australian cricketer - Tim May - rings the bell and the players are out in the middle. Starc, the leading wicket-taker with the pink-ball has the new ball in his hand. Three slips and a gully in place. Off we go...

Ricky Ponting and Harbhajan Singh bring the Border-Gavaskar trophy out to the middle. The players, along with the mascots, and the match officials march out for the national anthems. The Australian players are wearing black arm bands to remember Phillip Hughes (10-year anniversary) and Ian Redpath (passed away on December 1). The national anthems are done. It's action time...

Mitchell Starc to Jaiswal, out Lbw!! Mitchell Starc strikes first ball! He's pumed up. 140.4kph, pitched up delivery, angling in from over the wicket and swings away late, Jaiswal misses the flick to get pinned on the front leg adjacent to the sticks. It pitches around leg and crashes into the sticks. Jaiswal had a long chat with Rahul and rightly decided against the review. "You're bowling too slow," were Jaiswal's words to Starc in the previous Test. Falls for a golden duck against the same bowler today. Perfect start for Australia! Jaiswal lbw b Mitchell Starc 0(1)

Mitchell Starc to Jaiswal, THATS OUT!! Lbw!!
