What chance do the Netherlands have of beating South Africa at Adelaide Oval on Sunday? The odds are certainly stacked against them. Of the 38 matches played at the men's T20 World Cup before Saturday, six were won by the team who - as cricketing convention would have it - had no business winning those games. Admittedly it's a big picture, broad brushstrokes approach, but the logic of South Africa being favourites is sound.

Namibia struck the first blow in the tournament's opening match by beating Sri Lanka. Then Scotland downed West Indies, who also crashed to Ireland. The fighting Irish did it again against England. Zimbabwe found themselves on both sides of the equation. First they beat Pakistan, then they were beaten by the Netherlands.

South Africa have won the toss and have opted to field

Scott Edwards: We were going to have a bat so happy. As we saw from the last two games, the sun is out, should be a good wicket all day. A lot to play for us as there's the next World Cup for us. No changes.

Temba Bavuma: We will have a bowl. We have gone in with an extra seamer, maybe something early in the pitch, look to exploit that. David [Miller] is back and swapped with the spinners - Keshav comes in. It's a must-win game for us - this is an opportunity for us to keep building on the good things that we have done so far. Our focus is to execute the plans and we have done our preparation.

Teams:

Netherlands (Playing XI): Stephan Myburgh, Max ODowd, Tom Cooper, Colin Ackermann, Bas de Leede, Scott Edwards(w/c), Roelof van der Merwe, Logan van Beek, Fred Klaassen, Paul van Meekeren, Brandon Glover

South Africa (Playing XI): Temba Bavuma(c), Quinton de Kock(w), Rilee Rossouw, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Heinrich Klaasen, Wayne Parnell, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Lungi Ngidi

Pitch report by Shaun Pollock: It is very dry and underneath that there will be a little bit of moisture. Batters will probably enjoy it a bit in the second innings.

I feel it's a tactical error, after winning the toss, electing to field first by SA captain!

They have to put big score on the board first, and win with a big margin will improve their run rate which will be useful if RR will come to consideration for getting a Semi final berth!

Netherlands 48 for no loss at the end of Power play. Must be best power play score for them and may be better than most of the biggies.

Cheers..
