Sri Lanka Women have won the toss and have opted to bat

The Sri Lankan team is unchanged while India replaced Radha Yadav with Dayalan Hemalatha for the summit clash. While the Indian side beat Thailand in a one-sided game in the semi-final, Sri Lanka inched past Pakistan by one-run in a close encounter in the final 4. India had lost only one of their six games in the league stage and ended at the top spot in the table. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka had lost two and were at the third spot in the table.

The tournament brought to fore India’s depth as the younger crop of players has shouldered the burden of taking the team to the final without any tangible contribution from skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and her deputy Smriti Mandhana.

For India, Jemimah’s new found consistency and Deepti’s dependability with both bat and the ball has been the hallmark. Shafali, who had a poor run prior to the tournament, also found her bearings with the bat and is also bowling some mean leg-breaks.

Harmanpreet: We have a great side. Everybody is doing their job. As Chamari said, 130 will be a decent total on this wicket and we want to stop them below that. Radha isn't playing, Hemalatha comes in.

Chamari: We're going to bat first. Pretty confident about my batting unit. Really excited. I've never played in the Asia Cup final. Wasn't in the squad in 2008. 130-135 is a good score. Same team.

It would actually be a shock if India lost.

With no disrespect intended, India should beat PAK/BAN/SL women 99 times out of 100 regardless of conditions.

In the T20 format, you can possibly reduce that to 95/100, but it's an indicator of how weak the rest of Asian women's cricket is.

Eng/Ind (might beat Aus 2/10 times)

NZ/SA/WI (could beat each other on their day, and the odd victory over Eng/Ind)
