It's in the laws of the game. Make no mistake that it is in the laws of the game. Charlie Dean is heartbroken and in tears as she walks off - my word what a finish we've had to the game though. It's been an absolute roller-coaster of a ride and in the end, after a bit of a controversial finish, India prevail by 16 runs and take the series 3-0!

Here's a sight though - Jhulan Goswami is being carried on the shoulders of her teammates. A fitting tribute to one of the game's stalwarts. You can see how much she means to this team. And they're showering all their gratitude and love on her.

India beat England by 16 runs and sweep the series 3-0!

Deepti Sharma 68* (106) | Renuka Singh Thakur 4/29 (10)
Charlie Dean 47 (80) | Kate Cross 4/26 (10)

Oh. My. Word! Who wrote this script? What is it with games at Lord's and an unimaginable script unfolding in front of our eyes? I guess we'll never know. But goodness me, so much has happened, cricket-wise and emotionally with one of the great careers coming to an end, that this was the last kind of end that any of us could have fathomed!

Here's the wording of MCC Law 41.16.1: "If the non-striker is out of his/her ground at any time from the moment the ball comes into play until the instant when the bowler would normally have been expected to release the ball, the non-striker is liable to be Run out. In these circumstances, the non-striker will be out Run out if he/she is out of his/her ground when his/her wicket is put down by the bowler throwing the ball at the stumps or by the bowler's hand holding the ball, whether or not the ball is subsequently delivered."

43.4 Deepti Sharma to Davies, out Charlotte Dean Run Out!! Extraordinary scenes at Lord's. Pretty surreal to be honest. Controversial ending (depending on which way you want to look at it) to the game as Deepti Sharma sees Charlotte Dean out of her crease and wandering forward before she completes her delivery stride, Deepti watches all this and calmly knocks the bails off. It's in the Laws of the Game and is a perfectly allowed mode of dismissal. Deepti walks away towards her team-mates who are all giggling around even as the umpires refer to the third umpire. The decision is relayed on the big screen to loud boos from the Home of Cricket crowd. Dean is in tears, Ecclestone and the others on the balcony can't quite believe what they are seeing. But that's the end of the game. Charlotte Dean run out (Deepti Sharma) 47(80) [4s-5]

Deepti Sharma was the protagonist of India's thrilling victory today. Had it not been for her stoic defiance with the bat, India wouldn't have got to a score of 169. But then, it was the Renuka Singh Thakur show - again! All the attention was on Jhulan Goswami and her final international appearance and she did strike with the wicket of Alice Capsey. But not before Renuka broke the game open with yet another brilliant spell of bowling. Yastika Bhatia's sharp glovework saw Emma Lamb on her way back after a brisk start and it took a corker of a delivery from Renuka to castle Tammy Beaumont.

Phew! What an end to an unbelievable game. And also the small matter of this being Jhulan Goswami's last-ever game for India. What a farewell for her. A winning one and she is being carried off by her team-mates on their shoulders. She is all smiles and amidst all this India have completed the whitewash as well. 3-0 to them in the ODI series. Chasing 170, England got off to a decent start with 27 from the openers but Renuka Singh Thakur started the slide taking 3 of the 4 wickets to fall. Suddenly from 27/0, England were staring down defeat at 65/7 as the spinners came into their own too. But Amy Jones and Charlotte Dean did not give up till the skipper found deep mid-wicket with a pull. Goswami took the ninth wicket and had the chance to cap off her career in glorious style but Davies kept her out in what was the veteran's final over. It was all set up for a tense finish as Dean and Davies chipped away, till Deepti put an end by Mankading/Running-out Dean. Extraordinary would be an understatement to describe what just happened at the end there. But there was nothing wrong in what Deepti did, even though many will argue long and hard whether that was the right thing to do.

Amy Jones: "Not happy with the result. I think we bowled well and needed a bigger partnership there through the middle. The last dismissal divides opinion. I'm not a fan but it depends how India feel about it. It's within the rules, hopefully doesn't take the shine off the summer. Been a massive learning for me, not much experience captaining, learnt the hard way in the second ODI. Great opportunity and the girls have been supportive and I've really enjoyed it. The average age of this group is really low and not much experience. Been an exciting summer for long talent. We've got an exciting future ahead of us. [Dean] She absorbed the pressure and knuckled down - not sure she was getting out any other way. [Keightley leaving] Thank you to Lise, she's been brilliant. What she's brought to the group we'll remember and move forward with. All the best for the future but we'll miss having her around."
