What a session this has been for India. They have taken 7 wickets and are bossing this game now with just 9 Sri Lankan wickets remaining and Sri Lanka are still 390 runs behind.

The session started with Nissanka and Charith Asalanka notching up a 50 partnership and it was all looking stable for Sri Lanka. However, the loss of Charith Asalanka's wicket created panic and Sri Lanka batting line up just crumbled. Indian bowlers were fantastic with both spinners and seamers bowling brilliantly in the tandem and with Sir Jadeja taking a 5 wicket-haul, India ended with a 400 runs lead in the 1st innings. Then, it was a brief period before Lunch that Lankan batters had to negotiate but Lahiru Thirimanne departed early and India would look to continue their domination in the afternoon session.

The 1st hour of the session, Sri Lanka did show some grit and determination, with Nissanka and Asalanka scoring runs. But once Asalanka perished, wickets just started to tumble for them. While Nissanka scored a half-century, but he was stranded at the other end. He was the lone warrior for Sri Lanka, but he had no partners with him at the other end. They have lost 1 wicket already while following-on and they need a special effort to save this Test match now. A disappointing session for Sri Lanka and let's see how things pan out in the afternoon session.
