7.30pm It looks like the Eden ground staff have received some training from their Sri Lankan counterparts as far as covering the entire playing area goes. White covers firmly in place. Forecast is for steady downpour this evening. For now, we're hearing the rain has stopped. Could take a while to get rid of the covers though. We should have had the toss in by now, but that, clearly, isn't happening for now.

What we know is Coulter-Nile and Suryakumar Yadav are unlikely to play tonight. Sheldon Jackson and Ishank Jaggi are the two reserve batsmen in the squad. Mumbai Indians are waiting on the fitness of Krunal Pandya. Wonder if they will also be tempted to give Mitchell Johnson a game in place of Lasith Malinga.

Not the same Eden: they've radically altered the pitch to give better support to their foreign pace bowlers, which they've had good ones since Morne. If they get that, then Rohit is unlikely to click here.

Vinay Kumar to Pathan, OUT, length ball outside off, Yusuf makes the mistake of looking to swipe this across the line when he was better off trying to hit straight, ends up giving a simple catch to Hardik, who didn't have to move an inch, at long-on.

Narine needs to get back into the late order: sliding down the order has negatively affected Uthappa quite a bit, and Gauti too. Either that, or have a lineup of Narine, Gauti, Uthappa, Lynn
