Oh, Vis di...
At some places the ATM is not working...
There's more demand for hundred rupee notes...
Have you tried getting it through your office or colleagues?

You'll obviously not get any monetary benefit, its for convenience only. Asking your local kirana keepers is a good idea.

With notes of 2000 which has been issued,it is difficult to get change. Hope notes of 500 are released soon.
Some ATM machines are not working.Even banks are sending back customers stating exhaustion of currency available with them.

Hope all the efforts are worth it and the existing black money is tracked down.

I am not looking at monetary benefit. I wonder how many people use paytm here. there are other payment apps too ... FreeCharge, Airtel money, Icici pockets... So what if my local kirana guy has Airtel money? will these payment apps interface with each other like Citibank card can be used at Icici ATM? nothing is clear...😔

Yes that's where the problem comes, they can't merge. I put minimal amounts of money (never goes above 2k) in all of these accounts. As I've said earlier, I use PayTM and Ola Money on a daily basis, the airtel money is just for mobile recharge which I anyway am going to discontinue after its balance goes zero. I didn't open a PayTM account all because of its benefits, rather when Jugnoo gave a cash back offer for on payment by PayTM, I was too greedy to not utilize that offer 😆.

So now there will be a steep increase in prices of all essential commodities just like the prices of salt and sugar has now increased.
Wonder whether this will be only for a short time or if it is a permanent rise.

It is temporary - till all of the cash is replaced with new cash. After that prices will fall since cash in hand and purchasing power of people who had black money will decrease, reducing demand of goods and services. Just 7% of the families in India had absolutely no black money (salaried from organized sector, assuming people in business and unorganized sector have certain amount of black money) so their purchasing power will increase due to slight fall in current prices. Everybody else's purchasing power decreases , rightly so. 😆

there are some rumours floating around. The Indian currency notes have the denomination written in 15 languages.

This is the order of languages
Assamese2.Bengali3.Gujrati 4.kannada5.Kashmiri 6.konkani7.Malayalam8.Marathi9.Nepali10.Oriya 11.Punjabi 12.Sanskrit13.Tamil 14.Telugu 15.Urdu.

someone says the one in Urdu is wrongly spelled. can anyone confirm?

(the circled one is Konkani and there was some controversy over that too, please ignore)
