A man is running for his life from 2 men. A girl in an auto notices him and yells out for Dhruv. The 2 men are also calling out from him. The girl starts running after Dhruv when the 2 men knock her over and she's taken away. She sees Dhruv stop to talk to another girl in purple before being taken away. Dhruv continues to run. A little later Dhruv is caught and searched. When the 2 men don't find what they are looking for, they cut his shirt off and then he's taken away. (Err excuse me but are they trying for a Salman Khan move? It ain't gonna work. Salman Khan is Salman Khan.)
An old couple, who had helped the girl, are walking along and settle down on the road near some pipes. The husband refuses eating, but Suman, the wife, forces and both share a roti. Then Suman starts crying that they spent all their money on the girl, but the husband says she wanted to pay them, but he didn't take it and they'll manage. They start to settle down for the night while a couple in the next pipe discuss them. (Aww...it's really sad that they're going to have to go through this! If their kids did this then shame on them!) Later a thief tries to steal the couple's bag. A man comes in a car and saves them. He asks them where they stay and they say that they were kicked out of their house because they couldn't pay the rent and will go to their friend's house in the morning. The man insists at dropping them off. (Okay the dialogues are a bit OTT, but I'm glad that someone stepped forward to help them.) They agree.
At Dhruv's place, his parents are getting worried and the girl is also there worried for Dhruv as well. Dhruv's father decides to call CID when a car comes there. Dhruv is thrown out of the car. The 3 rush out and start crying for him. Dhruv says the box before dying. (Okay this introduction is getting very long and winded!)
The man takes the couple to their house, but they find that someone else lives there and the son sold the house to him 2 days ago. The man asks where the son may be. The man in the house says that the son was talking about leaving the country. (Umm...why was the man from the car giving such expressions as if he knows something?)
ACP Pradyuman, Purvi, Nikhil, and Pankaj are at the site investigating Dhruv's death. ACP Pradyuman promises to catch the person who did this. (I loved the tone ACP Pradyuman used here. FW should have him use that more often!) Nikhil points out the burn marks all over the body. ACP Pradyuman tells Pankaj to take the body to the forensic, tells Purvi to take the family home, and tells Nikhil to check the area.
The old couple tells the man from the car (MC - this is all getting too long for me now) explain that their daughter-in-law didn't want to live with them. That's why their son got them a rented flat, paid for a month, and left them there. Then the landlord threw them out because their son, Kalpesh, never picked up their phone and now they found out this. They have a daughter Ragini, but they don't have any contact information because their son never wanted them to contact them. They say they'll stay on the footpath, but the MC says he's their son now. (Typical, typical, typical family drama except its faster and more condensed FW style. Am I still watching CID or did I accidentally switch over to a daily serial?)
ACP Pradyuman asks if Dhruv had any fight with anyone or was bothered about something. Dhruv's mother says that he was worried about something, but he never said anything even though she asked. Then he asks Tripti, the girl, but she doesn't know anything either. (Again I love the tone that ACP Pradyuman used.) She tells them about the goons.
In the lab, Dr. Salunkhe says that he seems to have been tortured with cigarettes.
In the house, Tripti says that an old couple helped her, but she never saw the goons properly.
In the lab, Tarika wonders why a college student was tortured. Dr. Salunkhe says that it means that the culprit wanted to take some type of revenge from him. (How about torture for information or torture to not reveal something?)
ACP Pradyuman asks Tripti if she knows anything about the couple. But she doesn't know though they said they would stay the night at the pipeline.
Tarika says that there was internal bleeding as well. Dr. Salunkhe says that's the reason for his death.
At MC's house, Reena, his wife, is complaining that he brought home 2 strangers. The old couple are hearing everything downstairs as Reena is complaining. Suman starts crying as Reena tells MC to kick them out.
ACP Pradyuman, Sachin, Freddy, and Purvi reach the pipeline where they are recognized as CID immediately. (Yep everyone knows who they are.) Freddy and Purvi bring everyone out. ACP Pradyuman asks about the old couple. They claim not to know anything. One man tries to run, but Sachin catches him easily. They tell CID what happened and one man says he saw the car's number.
At MC's house, the old couple are sleeping on the couch when 2 goons try to take their stuff. They end up giving their stuff over when one goon pulls out a gun. The goons find a computer chip in the tiffin. In a quick flashback, it's seen that Dhruv put the chip there. (Hold on. The couple was with Tripti after she got pushed over. So when did Dhruv put the chip in their tiffin? Or was it before Tripti got pushed? At least clear that up FW!)
ACP Pradyuman, Sachin, and Pankaj meet Namita, the girl in purple. Namita says that Dhruv was going to tell her about some scam happening in his college, but before he could say anything he had to run away from the goons. ACP Pradyuman says we'll find out.
ACP Pradyuman, Nikhil, Purvi, and Pankaj reach MC's house. They find the door open. ACP Pradyuman peeks in, but sees no one and they all get into the house. Inside one of the goons is unconscious. Pankaj calls an ambulance. Purvi goes upstairs to check and they believe there were some fighting there. Pankaj sprays the goon with water and brings him to conscious. ACP Pradyuman questions him, but he faints again. Purvi finds a phone that belongs to Reena, MC whose name is Manoj. She sent the photo to a police officer. ACP Pradyuman tells Purvi to send the photo everywhere.
At a college, Sachin and Shreya (in a South Indian disguise) are interviewing to get their son, Chetan, admission. They offer a bribe, but the principal refuses. A teacher signals to the peon as they are kicked out. They leave and speak in quiet about what they saw. The peon offers to get their son admission for 15 lakh. They agree and are told to meet at a predetermined location. (Sachin was looking especially hilarious! 🤣)
Abhijeet, Nikhil, Jaywanti, Pankaj, Vansh, and Ishita/Divya reach to meet Mr. Goon Gone Unconscious. Abhijeet questions him. He doesn't know where the couple are, but they were told by the boss to bring the memory card and kill the couple. Abhijeet asks about the boss. The goon says that he was going to take the card to his hideout. Abhijeet asks about the hideout when he gets a call about the couple. Abhijeet asks for the location of the hideout again. (I loved the way he snapped his finger at that moment.)
Reena apologizes for not trusting them as they are waiting at a location for Manoj. Sachin, Freddy, and Ishita/Divya reach the location where the husband is about to attack them. Sachin says they're from CID. They take the 3 to the bureau.
In the bureau everyone is standing around a table (Because obviously in the future there will be no chairs.) where Daya asks how they reached the location they're at. In flashback we see the goons reach the location and take the chip when Manoj attacks one with a bottle and takes the chip from the other before escaping with everyone. Manoj then takes the couple and Reena from there. When they get tired, Manoj takes them to a place and then says he'll get the goons off them. In the bureau, the husband says that because of them Manoj's life is in danger as well. Daya promises to find Manoj and they won't let anything happen to him. (You shouldn't make a promise that you may have no idea if you can keep or not.)
At the location the South Indian couple were supposed to meet the peon, Daya, Sachin, Freddy, Purvi, and Ishita/Divya reach. The peon gets away with a gun and runs from there. (Ha, ha, ha. I loved how Daya and Sachin were acting scared of the gun.) The peon leads CID directly to the teacher. The teacher makes some sarcastic comments and then reveals Manoj who has been captured and is being held by the 2 goons. The teacher threatens Manoj's life, but Manoj tells them not to worry about him. Daya fires a shot and gets the gun out of the teacher's hand. Manoj reveals that the real culprit is about to come here in a bit before fainting. The principal reaches the location with another goon. CID reveals themselves. The goon tries to attack Sachin, but gets a handful. Daya gives the principal his well-deserved slap.
In the bureau, CID accuses the principal of killing Dhruv who saw the peon taking the money and recorded their conversation. Daya delivers the final dialogue. Pankaj takes the principal away. Daya praises Manoj. Ragini, their daughter, thanks them for everything.
