Rest in Peace Kalam Sir..
😔
It's really shocking and saddening to hear such news when you least expect it.

Yes but best part was he had peaceful death 🥺
I don't understand how much pathar Dil I became ..
If it was same old me, I would have cried for a day for this great man who was my inspiration, whom I always thought as guru...
Samajh nahi aata how time can change everything ... I felt bad zaroor par not as bad as I expected my self to feel 👎🏼

This is the exact problem most of us are facing..people usually can't cry when they are shocked. His death was shocking.

RIP Kalam sir. The best ever president we had.
My dad has had the fortune of having worked with Kalam sir when he was at DRDO. My dad's company used to supply thermal batteries for Prithvi missile.

In memory of Abdul Kalam sir...my dad was talking about it over the last 3-4 days and I wished to share it with people without revealing anyone's identity. It involves some diplomatic relations between countries...no offence meant to anyone. 😛

This was when my dad was working for a dept of atomic energy company and Kalam sir was overseeing Prithvi missile in the 1990s. There were a series of nuclear tests at Pokhran and the US had imposed sanctions on India. That was the time when the Prithvi missile research was at its peak. As mentioned in the above post my dad's company used to supply thermal batteries for the missile. These are batteries which can function at very high temperatures unlike normal ones which will melt beyond a certain temperature.
These thermal batteries required some components which were usually imported from the US. After the sanctions were imposed, the company in the US stopped supplying these components without a proper statement declaring where these components were going to be used. There was a delay in supplying the batteries to DRDO because my dad's company weren't sure what to tell the US supplier company. They could lie saying it was going to be used for some 'blah blah' purpose or they could tell them the truth. There was a big meeting headed by Kalam sir and my dad was also present ( I wish they had camera phones back then and my dad had taken a selfie) Kalam sir clearly told them to tell the truth. Many objected saying this could mean that they would stop supplying the component. He just said...'why do you want to import...can't you guys make it here?'
They did as told...declared the truth. As expected, the US company refused to supply the component..and my dad's company had to break their heads and create it here. They took an extra 6-8 months but finally they did it and started supplying the batteries to DRDO. 👏
Just a small story of how he inspired people. 😃

Its a wonderful story Visrom. Thank you so much for sharing. 😊 Kalam sir was one of the very few genuine leaders we ever had, and has left a gaping void forever. Least we can do is at least contribute in some small way to help his vision of India come true.

Kalam Sir is and will always be an inspiration. Thank you for sharing this with us Vis di.It's because of great people like him I had started hating sugarcoating everything ,started being bold and straightforward.
A lot of people ask me not to be bold because to them telling the truth on someone's face is being rude and foolish, but great personalities like Kalam Sir give me the strength to pay no heed to such advice.
I saw Kalam Sir in my dream yesterday-he was advising me on the same lines. I felt quite emotional when I woke up,hence this long paragraph.
Your father's case is a perfect example of how one should stop being dependent on others.Tell the truth on their face, let them take their help back, become self reliant and shine, have pride in your own self and value your potential 😊
