CID Written Update: Rahasya Serial Killer Ka (20th July, 2014)

Scene 1

Abhijeet sir and Daya sir meet in a restaurant. The former informs that Shreya is going to be married and suggests the latter to talk to her. He tells him to come along and they exit.

Scene 2

Duo drive to Shreya's house and Daya sir sees Shreya outside. Before they can talk, Shreya's parents come outside. Daya sir receives a phone call for duty, and goes back and drives away with Abhijeet sir.

Scene 3

Duo and the others arrive at the murder spot where we see a couple brutally stabbed to death. Abhi sir construes they were murdered in sleep. The others search the room while Abhijeet sir talks to the watchman and maid, who say the victims had been dead and house empty when they entered it. The watchman said nobody else entered the house. Dushyant says nothing was damaged or stolen in the house. Another cops finds out the couple were Kishore and Jaya, who owned a cloth shop. Abhijeet sir asks them to collect all fingerprints in the room and find out how the killer entered the house.

Scene 4

Shreya is seen looking sad at her home with her parents and Purvi.

Scene 5

Duo and Dushyant discuss the killer must be a familiar person who had keys to the house. The maid says when she left last night, Jaya was alone in the house and Kishore hadn't returned until 11:00 PM according to the watchman. Abhijeet sir suspects them and receives news about two more similar attacks.

Scene 6

ACP sir and the others visit the hospital where the new victims Prashant and Prema have been admitted. The doctor says they managed to save Prashant but Prema is still in critical condition. He says the bungalow's watchman Ramesh brought them there. Ramesh explains he heard screams and rushed into the house to find the couple being viciously stabbed by a hooded figure. By the time he broke through the locked door, the killer got away.

Scene 7

At her house, Shreya thinks why Daya sir left without saying anything. She seems upset.

Scene 8

ACP sir and team meet the bedridden Prashant, who explains how they'd been awaken by a noise at night and cautiously left their rooms and were attacked by the knife-wielding hooded killer. He says he can't remember anything else and doesn't remember the attacker's face either. ACP sir reassures him and discusses with Kavin that both sets of victims seem to be attacked by the same person, and it could be a serial killer at work. He instructs him to check the area outside Prashant's bungalow for clues left behind by the fleeing kiler.

Scene 9

In the bureau, ACP sir recalls that a similar serial killer was subjected to life imprisonment 10-15 years ago and asks Freddy sir to look up details about him. Sachin informs him that Kishore's maid's phone records show she's telling the truth, and watchman has no criminal records either. Freddy sir finds out that the serial killer was one Punit who's currently at the Central Jail. He also finds pictures of his victims bearing a similar wound pattern, along with the knife used for the murders. Dr. Salunkhe enters saying the first couple was attacked at 12:00 AM and second one at 4:00 AM, and shows a picture of the kind of knife used for the attacks. It's identical to Punit's knife. ACP sir wonders if Punit is indeed the murderer.

Scene 10

Kavin and team search the bungalow boundaries. Kavin suspects the watchman for letting the killer in and out of the place under his nose. One of the cops says he's collected all fingerprints from the crime spot while another finds the knife in the underbrush.

Scene 11

Sachin and Nikhil visit the central jail and are told that Punit was released last week because he seemed to have reformed. He mentions Punit had changed totally and even rescued 6 prisoners from a fire once. Sachin asks for a copy of Punit's records.

Scene 12

In the forensic lab, Dr. Salunkhe finds out that none of their sampled fingerprints match with Punit's from their database. Sachin enters with the news of Punit's release and also a copy of his fingerprints from the jail records. This second set of fingerprints match with Punit's. Dr. Salunkhe comments the prints seem to have been burned, indicating Punit rescuing those people from the fire. ACP sir wonders if Punit is back to his crooked activities after seemingly reforming.

Scene 13

ACP sir and team visit Puneet's house and meet his children Sandhya and Ashu. They see a photo of the kids' late mother on the wall. Ashu mentions Punit had received a call about some lottery last evening, and left but not returned. They provide his phone number, but it's switched off. Sandhya insists their father has reformed and is innocent, and explains how his past has already earned the family a social stigma. Kavin receives a call that Prema has succumbed to death at the hospital. ACP sir instructs him to send Punit's photo to all police stations and checkpoints. He sweetly reassures the children that if Punit has indeed reformed, he'll get him a good job and help them in every way possible(outstanding performance by Shivaji sir in this scene).

Scene 14

In the bureau, Freddy sir says Punit is being followed at Shantinagar by a local cop Ratan.

Scene 15

With Ratan's help, Dushyant, Nikhil and Pankaj manage to capture Punit. Dushyant hands him a tight slap.

Scene 16

In the bureau, Punit insists he is innocent and reformed. He had seen the team entering his house and was afraid they would not believe him. ACP sir sharply points out the victims bore a wound pattern similar to what he to do, and they found his fingerprints on the murder knife and at the victims' houses. Punit insists someone is framing him. Sachin says his mobile was tracked to the murder spots at the time of the attacks. Punit says someone had called him to meet for a job at those places at the same time, but he found nobody when he went there. He offers them his phone to check. Freddy sir checks and notes that there were indeed two received landline calls around that time. ACP sir says they'll surely find out who's behind those phones.

Scene 17

Shreya's and her would-be groom Siddharth's families are seen meeting at her house for talks. There are some related talks and Siddharth's mother asks if Shreya will leave CID after marriage to become their housewife. There are some uncomfortable moments.

Scene 18

In the bureau, ACP sir says they should be careful not to convict an innocent. Freddy sir finds out that Punit had been called from 2 different railway platform PCOs. ACP sir tells Punit someone knew he was going to be released from jail and that he was in desperate need of a job. Punit remembers that a writer used to meet him as he wants to write a book on his life as a killer, and for complete details used to instruct him to reconstruct his killing techniques using a pen for dagger, which he videographed. Punit mentions this guy visited him about 6 months ago and vanished after a little over a week. He adds the man was bearded and had a ponytail and blue eyes. ACP sir asks Freddy sir to check for such a writer online. The latter finds out no such person exists, implying the man was an impostor who wanted to get Punit's details. ACP sir concludes this very guy called Punit for the fake job offers. Guessing he must surely have a mobile, he instructs Sachin to find out which mobile numbers were active around those PCOs at that time.

Scene 19

After some extensive search and sorting, Sachin finds out that apart from Punit's phone, one number was active at both those places at that time. ACP sir instructs him to find out whom the mobile belongs to.

Scene 20

A thuggish man comes to meet Prashant at the city hospital, and demands for his money. Prashant gloats that he got himself and his wife attacked. He says there are more murders to be committed in order to mislead the CID. At this point, ACP sir and team enters and reveal this was a trap to get him to confess. It's revealed that the cops had managed to capture the killer by tracking the phone number they obtained, and forced him to confess who paid him for the murders and framing Punit. Prashant confesses he did it all to get revenge from his wife for trying to elope with someone else. Therefore he decided to get Punit framed and masqueraded as the writer to get Punit's fingerprints. ACP sir condemns his evil deeds and says he'll be surely executed for his crimes.

Scene 21

Duo arrives outside Shreya's house. Abhijeet sir approaches the door and is greeted outside by Purvi, who tells him that Shreya agreed to marry Siddharth. Abhijeet sir walks back into the car and looking at Daya sir, tells him that Siddharth was ill and didn't come at all. Daya sir thinks of talking to her, and Abhijeet sir feels sad for him.
