What is really your real idea of women power? Am not a feminist or a mad woman that i am asking this. Recently an incident from india, which i heard about sitting here, has made me realise that this is all farce- all the talk of ideals and women power.
When it comes to the facts, reality and practice, the indian society's true elements come out, true colours in form of those very people who do crimes against the unborn girl child, the girl child after birth, girl kids, young women, growing up women, older women etc.
How lucky i feel, and am sure all the women and girls reading this feel as well, that we are alive because of the few rare gems i.e. the family. It is unfair to compare our situation to others, am sorry...
But am so upset! So many women stay silent and suffer in silence in order to survive as bharatya nari. wah! kya baat hain. i feel like swearing but for the codes of the forum! so while you discuss please no bashing terms thanks otherwise the mods will take action.

I think literacy plays a huge role in this. Many families are still stuck with the old societal norms and swear by them even in these modern times. Many women are not aware of the procedures to fight such crimes..for example filing an FIR etc...and even if they file an FIR, police efficiency is a concern, especially in rural areas, where such cases are abundant. If you can't foot some 'bakshish' to the police superintendent/ whoever is in charge, you are done for, more so because you are a woman. I hate such mentality, and I know violence is not the option, but I just wish someone could beat them up instead😡

true... but police efficiency is just one of the reasons... other factors like women themselves preferring silence... then the panchayat domination etc etc... yes rural areas have problems.

today (its night here) i watched friday's episode of crime patrol... o god it made me cry so much!! being here, i was unaware of this year's june crisis about a maharashtra village foeticide scandal... o god so many silent girl children died before birth... live foetus... god i hope that murderer abortionist doctor and the pro-abortion families get punished severely. i was just so upset!! god, and the women whose children got killed were silent??!! shocking!! to think that so many silent deaths went unnoticed!! god bless those lil souls... may they be reborn in better times to better families...

Yeah, women are silent because of the age old patriarchal society, something that will take time to change. Why are women silent? It is because they know their voices will not be heard!

On a side note, Crime Patrol I have always found to be over dramatized. It is a poor copy of Bhanvar. Anyways, I have heard it has improved nowadays. But still the cases are way too shocking to stand. That's why I stay away from it.

Ya i too agree. I heard that the rate of female to male is favorable in state of kerala n less in haryana or rajasthan.
