Well there is less clarity on this matter as there are some cases in between whose actual air date is not known

It happened gradually as their friendship grew. Initially Adi sir was supposed to be on CID only for 6 months and then he became a permanent member...at this point the creatives, who used their brains those days might have thought of starting a nice cute friendship between Daya and Abhijeet and decided to drop the 'sir'.

I also guess it has got to to with Adi sir and Daya sir themselves, who probably became friends, having worked with each other for over a year and then found it weird using 'sir'' on screen, so they decided to do away with it.
