It adds a dignified appeal to his face. I have never seen someone looking so dashing in specs. Usually specs add to a person's age. But he carries it of with great ease.

i always see him as the "gentle giant" though he is always depicted as the "truncheon bearer" in CID as he physically afflicts the culprits but somehow i discern him as being more soft-hearted than abhijeet and when he dons specs this "gentle giant" image of him is accentuated

I feel in the curent scenario, Daya's roughness should be partially transmitted to Abhijeet & Abhijeet's gentleness should be transmitted partially to Daya. That way, balance will be maintained.

Earlier this was the case, & so things ran smoothly.

But now, Daya has to utter the piano dialogue & Abhijeet has to bring forth his romantic side, so things have gone upside down!!!!!

Over the years, I have felt that Daya is the more gentle type. Leave the physical aggression....that's necessary to make criminals talk. Daya does it only to extract the truth, but internally Daya is the more gentle and emotional person.

Abhijeet may show less of physical agression, but he's the more tough guy and sometimes acts rashly. I am sure if it were something like 'Daya ke ateeth ka raaz', Daya wouldn't have spoken to Abhijeet in such a harsh manner,(though we now know that Abhijeet was only pretending). If Daya were in his position, he would have just avoided meeting any of them, but never talked to Abhijeet in that manner.

We cannot compare both of them....both their characters are necessary for CID to function. They both are indispensable.

Nobody's comparing. Rather it's not right to compare between the two. They are meant to be different so that we get to each of them react to the same situation in a different way, with a different approach.

But yes I too have noticed that Abhijeet has a secret aggressive side within him, whereas Daya's aggression is restricted to the confession room only. Even in the interrogation sequence in ACP Pradyuman Giraftar, Daya was trying to bring in negotiations, calming Abhijeet & ACP whereas Abhijeet was doing all the shouting, not ready to move an inch from his stand. I know that was pre-planned but it's Just opposite to their respective images!!!!

Opposite???? No yaar...their images are exactly like this.

They behaved the way we know them.

I can never imagine Daya shouting at ACP. NEVER!!!!!

As you said Daya's aggression is only towards criminals.

Think of that situation where Freddie was caught with a bottle of drink in his pocket. Daya hid it from ACP and asked Freddie to come along for investigation. If Abhijeet were there, he would have blasted Freddie for having it in his pocket and would have told ACP about it.

To the outside world, Daya & Abhijeet are not what they are to us.I hate saying this. But every time, Daya sir makes a public appearance, he is asked to recite the Piano dialogue!!!! Same with Abhijeet - In Gallantry Awards, Mini Mathur said something like Abhijeet ka romance. 🤢

To us, the loyal fans of CID, these " IMAGES" are nothing but misnomers, but unfortunately to the rest of the world, they are the actual Daya & Abhijeet.

This really hurts a lot.

Well look Days is rather more protective and softer when it comes to his team !!! He's never a boss when it comes to his juniors !!! Like vis mentioned the freddy incident !!! He's more like a friend and keeps his harshness only for criminals !!

Now abhijeet is a bit different here !! He is friendly with his juniors but a pakka senior !! Will not try and hide their mistakes and give them another chance !!! He'll imply blast at them if they do a mistake. Slightly ruthless but then doesn't even back out from helping !!

So I guess this is why they're chemistry works onscreen !!! They complement each other perfectly
