Ant main yeh kehna chahoga ke kirpa jo bread apne kutto ko dalte ho usska adha bhi kisi gareeb ke bache ko de do ton apko duwaye he dega!! hum lakho-karoro ke daan kiye ja rahe hain par Kehte hain ke sabse badha daan kisi bhukhe ko khana dene main, kisi pyaso ko pani dene main he hota hain!! kisi gareeb ki aur ankh nikalkar mat dekho ..ankh nikalni he hain ton us system ko nikalo jiski vajah se voh aj beech sadhak ke khada apke hath main fadhe food ko bebas nazar se dekh raha hain!! Kehte hain na koi maa ke pet se har koi nanga he nikalta hain fer uske tan pe kaphde hoge ya nahi yeh maa-baap ki halat par nirbhar hota hain... aur koyi maa ke pet se yeh sochkar nahi niklta ke main badha hokar Doctor banoga ya fer mujhe 2 waqt ki rotti he mil jaye bahut hain!! yeh sab bhi maa baap ki halat par he nirbhar karta hain!! aur maa baap ki halat nirbhar karti hain hamare desh ke system par.. jo ke poori tarah corruption pe fas chuka hain!!

Jai Hindi!!! Azadi Diwas Ki sabko bahut bahut Mubark baat..

Agar koi 1 banda bhi mera likha padh us par amal karta hain ton mujhe dil se bahut khushi hogi aur main manoga ke meri 1 hour ki mehnat safal hogyi

Sorry for the late response... I only noticed this thread yesterday night and wanted to reply, but ran out of time. Just adding my two cents as well... 😊

Like Debayon said, Independence means freedom with responsibility. Great responsibility, in fact. It's well known how hard our freedom fighters, leaders and citizens had to strive in order to rescue India from the shackles of foreign rule. When we look at to the great pains and horrors they endured for this, how can anyone not be motivated to do the seemingly smaller things which is our duty as Indians? Patriotism and devotion to the country and our fellow Indians is something which should arise from within, which no one needs to tell us. It should be something as unconditional and powerful as our devotion to our loved ones. It is something which should be demonstrated in actions, not just words. There are many people who would be willing to stand on the rooftops, wave our flag and scream that they are proud Indians, yet the next minute they don't hesitate to go and engage in illegal activities. No matter what is the level of those activities, they are stabbing their country in the back. Sadly, this list includes a lot of high-ranking officials as well.

Then there are the people who almost directly say that patriotism and duty for their country is of little importance for them. I've met decent, grown-up people who didn't even bother standing up during the National Anthem, or singing along. When asked how one should try to be a good citizen of India, their answer is "Arre chhodo yaar, ek humare yeh sab karne se kya hoga?". This is exactly the kind of attitude which is clouding many of the citizens' decisions and making them forget their duty to the country. Worse, they are only spreading this attitude and encouraging their family and children to be the same way. Why is it that when the news arrives how our brave soldiers died when defending the country from foreign militants, they will go "ooh" and say how proud they are of them and their country, yet they can't do something as simple as keeping the city street clean by not spreading trash or spitting there? Fighting for the country in wars and battles, and defending it from invaders is arguably the highest form of patriotism there, but patriotism is not just limited to these duties.

Being a conscious citizen is patriotism. Standing up and singing the National Anthem and National Song with heart is patriotism. Not spreading waste and following the rules is patriotism. Being honest and being courageous to refuse when asked to do an illegal thing is patriotism. Helping preserve our wildlife and floral diversity is patriotism. Trying to eradicate poverty and illiteracy and helping in the development of the country is patriotism. Creating a favourable impression of India in foreigners, whether online or in person, is patriotism. Keeping your country's head high on an international level by winning competitions is patriotism. When called, going to national duty and joining the war is patriotism. Saving someone from a homicidal terrorist, at great risk, is patriotism.

While the last two are obviously rare and highly demanding situations which not everyone is capable of, everyone can at least try to follow the rest of the points (and many more similar ones) which are seemingly small but are very important for the country! From where did our great freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Lala Lajpat Rai, Mahatma Gandhi etc. get the strength and motivation to be willing to wade through Hell itself in order to gain freedom for India? The answer is that their love for the country and its citizens, and their determination to reach their goal under any circumstances was far greater than anything the British Raj could throw at them, not even death itself. This kind of patriotism cannot arise within anyone just by listening to speeches or reading books. It has to be truly felt and come from the heart! And when it does, then doing duties for the country feels not only easy, but something to be genuinely proud of!

I can't say we can say that youth today aren't valuing our hard-earned Independence, because from my personal experience I noticed that several young people are genuinely devoted to our country, while the same cannot be said about quite some grown-up people. I think the individual's personality matters more than their age in this case. When the enormity of the importance of duty towards the country and the true greatness and potential of India is realized by them from the heart, patriotism apne-aap aa jaati hai! So let's all be true proud Indians and let our actions prove it, chalo duniya mein Bharat ka naam uncha karein! 😊

Alright, I know that India is quite corrupted, but why do you think so? Firstly, I believe it ius the land-man ratio in India. So many people living in such a small area, which of course leads to a greater struggle for existence. Secondly, when the British left us, they took away most of our wealth, resources etc..Basically, we had to start from scratch! In addition the divide-and-rule left us in a further political turmor, further heightened by the rising tensions between India and Pakistan during the Cold War. Obviously, people would want to live a better life, because in our country, it's always a do-or-die situation. And a better life is certainly incomplete without money, which everyone would want. Imagine yourself as a chowkidaar with 3 kids and a wife, doing night duty, and someone wants to get in but you strictly have orders not to allow anyone to enter. The man who wants to enter suddenly pushes a Rs. 1000 note at you.Now what would you do? Of course, if better sense prevailed, you would not take the bribe. But if this was a real life situation, most likely the person would, thinking of his family, his little kids etc.. We may feel it's not right, but we have probably never been in such a situation before. Anyways, the struggle that we go through probably makes us curse about why India of all the places, but I believe the struggle is good for us, it teaches us how to be tough and self-sufficient, how to survive in damn tough conditions, in fact, that is the essence of true independence. Other citizens of other wealthy countries have already been provided with everything, they have been placed in a world where the basic necessities have been provided to them, and they can afford to goof around and not study, and still lead a healthy life, while the Indians and Asians who imigrate there looking for a better standard of living, do most of the hard work for them. So, we must never compare with them, situations are different. Another reason why we must never compare India to other western countries is because of how long they've been independent. The US became independent in 1776, unlike India, which became independent in 1947. They've had their share of goof-ups too, and they struggled too(The Great Depression), but they learnt from their mistakes, and became a successful nation. I think India can do the same too, especially since India has sharper brains on the rise.
Another thing I have noticed is that the common man always complains about the government doing nothing. In Delhi, people say NDMC is at fault. In Kolkata, KMC is at fault, and in Mumbai, SS/MNS is always on the rise. Everyone is seen passing the buck to others. I think we should stop this, and instead of finding problems, look for solutions collectively.
I think I hate, yes, hate about India is the regionalism aspect involved. Frequently, I see people bashing people from other states(on other forums) and stuff like Santa-Banta jokes still exist!Like Akshay Kumar said in Khatta Meetha " England mein English milte hain, America mein Americans milte hain, India mein sirf Bengalis, Madrasi, Gujrati, Punjabi milte hain, koi Indian nahi milta"👏👏People must remember that we carry an Indian passport, and not any Bengali, Madrasi or whatever passsport.
OK....that's all from me😆

The competition was the last thing on my mind. When I wrote, I just wrote what came to my mind....I typed what I felt about the Independence day. I didn't research on facts and figures and plan my essay.

LOL, this was a competition? I thought it was more of a constructive debate, where members can talk about the pros and cons of India. I feel that this shouldn't be a competition though, because personally, I don't think anyone can judge the love of the members towards his/her country.

But that's just my opinion

Whatever I wrote was truly my feelings and what i saw in my Childhood!! While writing I never knew how i crossed about more than 500 words!! and As everyone was crossing limit of 100 words, I never felt I am writing for a Competition!! Instead of this I felt whatever I will write, if even 1 person admits that yes this is what happening in India and Try to change that a bit, Myself will be Glad!! In Some Competitions, Participation is more important than Winning it!! and specially when it is about our Country and its Welfare!! Thats what I felt In this Competition!!
