The Human Touch

We know our CID team - ACP, Daya, Abhi and Freddie are lovely human beings. Even after being surrounded by criminals and seeing dead bodies day-in and day-out they have not turned into stones. They still have the human touch. This side of Vivek and Tasha has not been shown yet, or maybe I should say I can't recollect. We have seen that side when it comes to interactions within the team but here I want to discuss about their behavior towards victims, suspects or even criminals.

I used to love it when ACP Sir used to say - "Beta, mera naam, ACP Pradyuman" to make the person comfortable who has been called for interrogation. Can we ever forget his reaction to Paresh (Played by Adi Sir in Stolen Gun) in the last scene? Or the way he used to express affection for Peggy and Tipsy, our dog squad, "Peggy beta, madad karegi na". In THE CASE OF THE MISSING MAN, he managed to convince the boy from not committing the crime only by speaking to him like a concerned, well wisher. These traits are present in Daya Sir, Abhi Sir and Freddie Sir as well. They have been subtle but they have been there. Daya Sir's affection for the dog in THE BLOODY TRAIL , Abhi Sir's interaction with the scared kid in THE CASE OF THE INVISIBLE KILLER and Freddie Sir is a sweetheart "Madam agar yeh mujhe yaad karega to phone kar dena, yeh mujhe bahut pasand karta hai". Their disappointment when they have to go with a bad news for parents.

These scenes had suddenly dried and we almost always saw the team having a bossy tone but we know that this side of them has been there all along. I also understand that they have to sound like that else people will not take them seriously. However, last week we saw flashes of this side of our team, the way Daya-Abhi reacted to the kidnapped kid saying "beta, beta hum tumhein achhi jagah le jayenge".Or how Daya Sir was so sweet to the kid in the Apaharan case. Or the way ACP Sir spoke to Raman who was suffering from split personality disorder and considering himself to be Raka in the last scene, "Raman ko koi tang nahin karega, uski tabiyat theek nahin hai isliye doctor ke paas le jayenge, chaloge na ". Or Trio's joy when they were coming with a good news for the parents about their son lost since 11 years. I am glad this side of the team is back.

I would like this side of the team to be shown where appropriate.

Do you recollect more scenes?

I think all the emotional scenes in Nanhi Gavah showing Abhi Sir's relationship with the child did a really lovely job of showing his softer side, especially the ending scene. Wonderfully acted by both of them. Also the 2008 episode (can't recollect the name) where ACP catches a young man trying to pick his pocket but later lets him go, even gives him some money when he learns that the boy was doing it out of genuine desperation.

i love acp's expressions while saying "beta mera nam pradyuman hein"!! it was for a suspect drunker and he says truth after acp's psychological approach. the police dog is not there now a days . but he was so cute and genious. in many cases like
the bloody trail
flat no211
the case of tempting diamonds etc he did a great job.
miss u dogeeeeeeeeee
and i love a scene in"pracheen finger print" that abhi asks a girl who send threatening letters to the hotel owner (mummy)
girl: to uske karan tum yaha aaya. me vo bandh nahi karsakthe
abhi (with a calm voice and with ultimate jentleness) : kyu bandh nahi kar sakthe?
acp always act angry to convince the criminal "is this the way to question daya? what r u doing?"

Awww that is so sweet. Even I miss Peggy and Tipsy. They were such sweet characters, I used to really like it when they would come on screen. They helped solve so many cases. They were very much an integral part of the CID Team.

Towards the climax of THE CASE OF THE STOLEN CAR, ACP, Daya, Abhi and Asha enter the parking area. They know there is a bomb there but don't know where. They are pressed for time. Abhi Sir says "kash koi chamatkar ho jata aur pata chal jaata ki bomb kahan hai". And at that very instant Tipsy jumps out of the car. She was the chamatkar. She quickly goes around and indicates to Nimbalkar about the car which has the bomb. I really love Peggy and Tipsy, such sweetus. I really miss them.

In this same case, one of the sweetest gestures by ACP Sir is, as soon as Tipsy finds the car with the bomb he asks Nimbalkar to rush and take her to safety while he himself did not know if he and his team will survive.

You beat me at that. This scene had just come to mind. He even got shot in the leg for that stupid girl's foolishness. O I love you Daya Sir, you are just too good.

Nice topic once again Prabha 👍🏼

I think even "Case of the dazed man" had many such scenes. When they find the little girl and she asks for water, Daya handles her a water bottle. The girl lifts the bottle up to drink in a hurry... I just love how ACP asks the little girls to drink slowly... "Dheere dheere beta dheere dheere..." ❤️
