After a lot of bashing everyone is now under a sympathy wave and that was expected. However I wanted to clarify that people like me who at times go a bit harsh at some cast and crew members don't enjoy doing so. I mean we love the team cast and crew included, we care for them. If we criticized "Heart Attack Killer", it does not mean that we did not see how hard they worked on it in the odd hours. They possibly shot the whole night for it. We have no grudges againt actors either, we wish them no harm, why would we? We are sure that are lovely individuals, whatever we say is based on what they show us. Our comments are restricted to their performance only. There are some other series also that I am sure some of us here watch but how many bother to give feedback for them. Alteast I don't, I dedicate that time only to CID, it's important to me, there is a sense of ownership ki it's our serial; been a part of it for too long. Since I know people involved read what we have to say here, I will continue to give my honest opinion but I will try to ensure that if it is criticism, it is constructive and not seem like plain Bashing. They work so hard, we would like them to work hard on something that will be liked by all.
Some people say that since bi-weekly started we got 2 good cases to watch. Well I would say it's a mere co-incidence. CID Creative Team was on their way to re-discovery, and would have seen that if CID was Weekly too. The problem with Bi-Weekly now is that we have a good case on Fridays and one bad-average case on Saturdays. It's like taking 1 step ahead and 1.5 step back. Since it the Saturday's case that stays most fresh in the viewer's mind through the week. If it was weekly the standards would just be going upwards. And since this lead to addition of new members the chemistry of the team has gone missing, in a weekly format we would have retained that part.
Coming to new people. We have 3 new additions and I have major problem with them for the following reasons. This is the hierarchy of seniority we know.
1] ACP
2] Abhijit
3] Daya <========= More than a Decade (Known since Abhi Sir entered in 1999)
4] Freddie <======= More than a Decade (Since Michael Turned Freddie in 1999)
5] Vivek <========= About 4 years (Since Vivek entered in 2006)
6] Tasha <========= About 1 year (Since Tasha entered in 2009)
If they got 2 new people in the team and put them at the end of this hierarchy we would not mind much and with time would have accepted them if they half as good as Vivek and Tasha are. But there they are trying to fit a new person Sachin between 3 and 4. Now how do they expect us to accept it? Freddie as a character may not have much importance for the creatives (going by what they have turned him into) but we love him. We do not want new people coming and bossing over him. That is where they have gone wrong, the team composition is all wrong. The way they have tried to fit this character, upar se we haven't seen Daya-Abhi together since he entered. And with due respect to HP, his acting skills are not helping the cause either, has been rather unimpressive. Personally speaking I don't think I will ever like this character, I will always wish he leaves just like I always wished for Lavanaya.
Now Kajal, she can prove an asset but she forgets this is CID and she ain't a vamp here. She is a good actress but currently is not the cop we want to see. Dialog delivery is very daily-soapish and the wardrobe needs an immediate change, it is so un-cop like. But Tasha is being sidelined because of her that is just not done.
When you get new people you can't ignore people who have been around. These days Vivek and Tasha are mostly reduced to extras. We want them to be the given important tasks. CID turning Bi-Weekly could have meant growth for characters like Freddie, Vivek and Tasha, more opportunities for them to shine, but sadly that was not to be.
Coming to Sonali, a character which I wonder why they even considered bringing along. Sonali is Dr Salunkhe's classmate. Till now we are made to believe he and ACP are friends and around the same age group almost father figures to Daya-Abhi and the rest of the team. But Maninee De looks anything but older that Daya-Abhi. A clear case of mis-casting / mis-characterization. Add to that fight for superiority is a complete no no.
However there are a couple of things that I have noticed.
We had wished that Sachin rather team up with Freddie and leave Daya-Abhi. Since the last two Saturdays we have been seeing that he is indeed grouped with Freddie however that has not resulted in Daya-Abhi being together, which is why most of us did not notice this. This was because Abhi Sir gave "Heart Attack Killer" a miss and Daya Sir was missing from "Ek Khoon Do Baar". We will have to see what happens now; I am expecting them to be there in both cases.
We had wished that Daya-Abhi's time should be better utilized in Saturday cases. Not sure if this was because Daya Sir was able to allocate more time to the case but I noticed that they used him much better in "Heart Attack Killer". He was there on the crime scene, important interrogation and when they nabbed the criminal. Abhi Sir was very badly utilized in "Ek Khoon Do Baar". So this was a good sign.
And we have a tiny Freddie-Vivek scene too in "Heart Attack Killer" which was good to see.
