I think the biggest issues in CID today are the following and its not like they can't be corrected.
1] STORIES LACKING DEPTH
Take "Aatmahatya Ya Khoon" for example, this case has no depth that it can sustain the mystery for 48-50 minutes of running time resulting in dragged boring episodes. This leads to "A for Apple and B for Bannana", Dr Salunkhe's melodrama, CID team of 5 members go to a wrong person, something CID does as the first job Mobile-GPS is done as the last resort and long dragging flashback where you have time dedicated to a driver as well. Just look at the number of unnecessary scenes. Another way to kill time is to have long irrelevant dialogs before one finally comes to the point. To kill time Freddie was even saying the first line of the sher 4-5 times. I feel bad for the screenplay writer, dialog writer and the editor, they could not do much a wafer thin plot has to be created into a full 48-50 min episode, what can they do? We need Stories that can do justice to CID's Running Time like "Khatra Chemical Bomb Ka". We need better writers, new writers with fresh ideas.
2] CLUTTER OF CID OFFICERS
Why do 5-6 CID officers need to go to talk to one suspect, search a house or check the condition of a guy in the hospital. Or they crowd the Forensic Lab, standing like spectators while the 3 Docs in between their stupid conversations are doing something to one poor dead body (feel sorry). This team size has to go down for sanity. I can see the poor Cameraman pulling his hair off trying to fit everyone into the frame.
3] DEGRADED LEVEL OF COMEDY
Comic scenes in CID these days have turned into tragedies. They give me more tears than all the saas-bahu sagas put together could ever manage. The creative team is not able to come up with any genuine funny situations at all. There have been so many scenes in the past which were actually funny but now it's all forced, cringe worthy and sometimes totally undignified. I wonder why is it so important and essential to have comic scenes, why do they feel CID can't do without them. Why can't we do away with the comic track altogether for some time?
