What makes the difference?

There have been quite a number of threads where we, the CIDians have favoured the old episodes of CID than the present ones..

The investigative approach, the seriousness, good transitions between clues and scenes, and not murders all the time or unusual murders, good forensics, all this makes the olden era of CID golden.

Look at yesterday's case....Maut Ka Highway and The case of impossible murder (re-run shown on Thursday).

^agree wid u but one thing that didn't change is the costumes

firstly seriousness, good investigation and very good plots and stories, not always khoon, not same face is made criminal that by just his entry you will know he is the favorite criminal of CID and jokes here and there are good. But why for jokes they make Freddy always the bakra nowadays. there can be cool jokes around everyone.

If you have seen the classic cases (Asha era i.e) then you would notice the difference in their wardrobes. Asha in the initial episodes wore salwar kameez, where as Muskaan or Lavanya wore just the opposite. Even the pants wore in those episode were different compared to what we see now. As far as the gents are concerned, you can't bring about that many change in their wardrobes unless you make them wear sherwani😆

According to me.. the difference is the quality of the cases and the way they are solved has changed over the years. Some of the cases they come up with now are way too predictable..with the exception of very few. None the less what matters is that the pillars of CID (ACP, Daya and Abhi) stil manages to keep us all the edge with their fabulous acting.

Exactly my point. Freddy is more like a joker now and I don't like how the others keep babying him and treat him like he is mentally retarded or smth.😕 Before he was shown to be a very serious cop, we never got the comedian vibes around him. Once a while the jokes are acceptable but if you have to endure the same thing every episode then it becomes repetitive and annoying.

Yes the era of asha and aditi was a golden era to cid .. if we watch the episodes we can't predict the culprits till the end and there use to be suspense till the end.. but now a days it is becoming easy to predict the culprit .... eg; in that galli cricket case it was really hilarious.. i was damn sure that the killer was that old lady(disguised) at the moment i saw her.. and the dead boxer case was🤢..

but jst now i saw a case where a dead body was found in the roshini's car..and she was taken to bureau ..( i too watched last 30 mins of episode and i dnt know its name) i predicted some ranjith to be the culprti.. but the suspense was maintained till the end... this was a nice case.. and this type of cases was there during asha 's era.. but now this present episode are of flirting of abhi with taarika and freddy 's tom foolery jokes and his expressions.. uhhh.🤢🤢... this has to be changed.. if possible taarika 's role has to be changed... i mean let there be taarika in cid but replace shraddha with another actor who knows acting😊.. and stop freddy jokes and promoting other serials 😡.. i dnt think costumes shows an impact on the trp ratings of sony. show some cases where there is some priority given to female cops as it used to be in asha 's and aditi's time i just find taasha doing work with computer but not given any work and no such special performance i mean no such cases where taasha breaks the mystery ...NO MATTER WHETHER IT IS A KHOON CASE OR CYBER CRIME CASE BUT IT IS THE STORY AND MAINTAINING SUSPENSE, GOOD SCREEN TIME GIVEN TO ALL OFFICERS GIVING IMPORTANCE TO THEIR CASE RATHER THAN JOKES AND FLIRTING,FINALLY OUR DUO PARTNERSHIP👍🏼 KEEPS CID ROCKING..👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👏👏

Okay, this is gonna be a long list:

1. Although there was more seriousness in that era, there was an air of casualness about them that used to make those episodes look very natural and close to life. They never used to exaggerate anything. Their dialogues and behavior used to be very natural and had a flow about it. Unlike nowadays where they have these particular catch phrases for each charactrer that they use in every episode (one eg: ACP - "kuch toh gadbad hai" lol)

2. I think the direction used to be much more superior back then. Somehow they used to keep an eye on every little detail, leaving no loopholes.

3. The acting used to be just fabulous even if it was a small side actor. The casting used to be just perfect.

4. The stories used to have a lot of variety in them. It was not always about someone killing someone and the CID investigating their dead bodies. What I mean to say is, they used to think out of the box and come up with stories other than the usual murder investigations.

5. Technology wasnt that advanced back then, and inspite of that they used to solve the cases very cleverly. Nowadays they just rely too much on technology to solve a case.

6. They never used to depend as much on forensic science as they do now.

7. Although they have made CID much glossier and stylish than it used to be, I feel in the old episodes there used to be a casual coolness about them that used to make them look naturally stylish. These days it looks like they are trying too hard to look cool.

8. There is too much of forced comedy these days. Sometimes it is so forced that it doesnt even seem funny. (Eg: Freddy promoting Indian Idol and Abhijeet - Tarika flirting)

9. Okay I know this is something very minor, but here goes: In that era the case titles used to be soo creative. You cant imagine what the story is going to be from the title. Nowadays, its just, "put the word 'khooni','laash','qatil','rahasya' in the title and be done with it"... (okay, okay I know this doesnt really matter, but just making a point people 😛 )

10. I think Asha is one of the reasons for the old episodes being so good... miss her

11. Somehow in those episodes the CID bureau and the investigation team used to look very lively. I'm sure most of you wont agree with me, but the bureau used to look very full although there were only 6 officers even back then. These days, inspite of there being 6 people in the team, plus Dr.Salunkhe and Tarika, it looks empty. Like something is missing. I dont know why I feel this way, but I'm guessing its because Vivek and Tasha are more like background posters than officers and Freddy is more like a comedian... 😒

12. And somehow, in those episodes they used to try and show a little bit of the teams' personal lives. Like the ACP's wife, Abhijeet's mom, Daya's brother, bhabhi, nephew, sister, Asha's mom, Salunkhe's niece and they even showed all of them going for an outing together to Sudhakar's house.... Nowadays it's as if they dont have a life away from CID. Okay I agree Abhijeet's mom is dead and ACP's wife is probably dead too.... but you know what I'm trying to say...

Okay this is my looong list 😆 I'll add some more points if anything else strikes my mind lol
