I have some information to share.

First some new case titles/info I found:

  • THE CASE OF THE UNKNOWN ATTACKER (2002 - most likely late Sep).
A woman comes to the CID Bureau and tells the ACP that her father has been receiving mysterious letters which he immediately burns. She managed to get her hands on a single half-burnt piece of paper and gives it to the ACP. The paper had the word "Kill" and the team thinks that somebody maybe threatening the father. Daya and Abhijeet are sent to talk to him and he (after some initial denial) confesses about the threatening letters. He hires a security agency for protection. Later one of his cigarettes explodes into flames - somebody had replaced his cigarettes coated with a flammable chemical. Only one of the cigarettes was not coated with the chemical and this one had a piece of paper, again with a threatening message. He still refuses police protection and prefers the security agency. At one point he receives another message from his daughter's cell phone. Their accountant also comes under suspicion after a while.
  • CASE OF THE BOMB SCARE (2002 - most likely late Sep).
  • CASE OF THE PREDICTIONS (2003 - most likely late Jan or early Feb)
  • THE CASE OF THE MISSING GIRL (2004 - most likely around late Jan)

Next, I found some episode previews but no titles:

  • Sep 26, 2003
A dead body is found near a lake by the CID team and the only clue they discover to trap the murderer is a strand of hair at the murder site. The victim was a property dealer who was on the verge of finalizing a mega deal. Who killed him and why?

  • Oct 3, 2003
The CID team has set out to unearth the murderer based on the special oil found on their only piece of evidence'the single strand of hair. This hair oil is available only at one particular hair salon. Will the CID be able to catch the murderer? Watch the nail bitting suspense in this exciting episode of CID.

  • Dec 3, 2004 (this is Part 2 of the case)
The cops now know that the cause of death is poisonous gas, which was transmitted by a miniscule capsule. The cops know that this capsule was used by the mysterious woman at the theatre. But they are surprised when they trace this capsule to a watchman at the bar - where Reshma used to work. When they confront him - he threatens suicide and holds up a similar gas filled capsule. He points it at the cops and bursts it. He dies - but the cops manage to find out his next step' another murder. The cops go to stop this murder and in the process crack a bigger mystery.

Also, I found some dates of 2004 cases (and one 2003 case) which may be of some help:

  • HOWZZAT? Part 1: Oct 24, 2003
  • THE CASE OF THE DEADLY PROPOSAL Part 2: Mar 26, 2004
  • ACP IN THE GAME OF DEATH Part 1: May 21, 2004
  • THE 15 YEAR OLD CASE Part 1: Jun 4, 2004
  • THE FACELESS KILLER Part 1: Jul 30, 2004
  • THE FACELESS KILLER Part 2: Aug 6, 2004
  • THE HAUNTED BUILDING Part 2: Sep 24, 2004

Finally, I looked into the issue of the change of timing from Wed to Fri and from what I can see, I believe the change happened in Jan 2001. It's a 100% certainty but fairly close. I am reasonably certain though, that there was never a Thursday timing.

Some tiny mistakes I found in your list:
  • From what I know, The Case of Secret in the Ashes was aired on Nov 12 & 19, 2004 while the 111 minute case was aired on Sunday Nov 7, 2004. This means that the sequence in your list should be reversed: Secret in the Ashes should be listed immediately after The Inheritance.
  • The 2005 case numbering has a small mistake: Murder by Marriage and Poison in the Nail are case numbers 23 and 24 instead of 24 and 25 respectively.

Now a little question. Back during era of the half-hour episodes, Part 1 of a case would always end with the words "Concluding part next week" I was recently watching some 2004 cases and I saw a few where Part 1 ended with "Concluding part tomorrow". 😕 That doesn't make any sense. What was this, a simple mistake? But it's not just a matter of one or two cases either and one would expect a mistake like that to be corrected immediately.

These are cases I watched with this "error":

  • The Case of the Comatose Victim
  • The Case of the Suicide that was Murder
  • The Faceless Killer
  • Abhijeet in Danger
  • The Haunted Building
  • The Unknown Conspiracy
So what happened there?

Sorry the Faceless Killer date was Jul 30 not Jul 3. A little typo. 😳

And I am referring to prabhanarayan's case numbering in this thread. She made a little mistake there.

As far as The Deadly Proposal case is concerned, well that's the date I found.

I think you maybe right about the cases being re-aired on a daily schedule with the "Concluding part tomorrow" message. That would explain it.

Thanks for confirming some of the information. 😊

Wow thanks for that list. 😊 I think the Jan 16 & 23 dates are the ones for the Missing Girl case. So that only leaves the very first case of 2004. I think you're right about the date for the Deadly Proposal case.

BTW, can you explain what happened with Nov 5, 2004. There was no episode on that date? Was it because of the special episode on Sunday Nov 7?

You maybe thinking about CID Files which was aired on Saturday 7-8 pm. It used to re-run old cases but with both parts edited into a single one hour episode. I don't think that had anything to do with my confusion. Probably bentogoa is right: these episodes were re-run on a daily schedule and that's when they showed "tomorrow" instead of "next week".

EDIT: Ok one more question. I found that on Saturday Aug 14, 2004 there was a one hour "CID Azaadi Special" episode. There was no CID Files episode on that date. The preview simply says

The C.I.D. team in a race against time!!! Watch C.I.D. Azaadi Special, tonight 8pm

What was this? Any idea?
