Well, that's no reason to dislike Viren in all his previous episodes.

When someone leaves a serial, you start missing him. Even I missed him for a few months..Jayanth wasn't good at all...he was too dull. Till Abhijeet made his entry, I was missing Viren. After that Abhijeet gelled so well into the team that I completely forgot Viren.

Just think Abhijeet leaves for a few days(I hope that never happens)...and they decide to continue CID without him and find someone to temporarily do his job. Suppose that person turns out to be so good that we stop missing Abhijeet altogether, you can imagine how good that person would be.

That was the case with Viren at that time...he was not as dear to us as Abhijeet, but he suddenly dropped a bomb that he was going to leave CID to make a movie. CID was 2 yrs old at that time. People like me were sitting and discussing with friends as to what would happen to CID without Viren.

Viren was good....no doubt about that....but Abhijeet is in a different league.He brought more 'life' into CID. That's why I love him more.

Even ACP's kept a criminal in his house....that doesn't make one like or dislike you. Yes what you said above is true but then again, in your last line, you said Abhijit brought more 'life' to the show. I completely agree but then again, Ashutosh Gowarikar was never really faced with such a problem. Did anyone for example Fredericks, ACP,Daya etc.. die during his stay in CID? HE hasn't been faced with many adverse situations which is why we can't say for sure until we see the Missing Bullet episode and the first episode of CID.

I don't remember the first episode of CID...I got addicted to it only after missing bullet and that too for Daya. CID didn't have that 'emotional' touch till then. It was all about solving cases only. Maybe...Ashutosh would have also done a good job...but Viren and Daya would never have been like Abhijeet and Daya. Ashutosh Gowarikar was way too senior to Dayanand Shetty at that time to have a 'friendship' between them.

And just think of all those episodes of Abhijeet...getting hypnotised in phool chaman or being accused of accepting bribe in Accused officer, or playing 'Meet' in kidney episode with Tarika or playing 'Sonu' in this week's episode....Aditya alone could have done it the way it is. I have seen Ashutosh act, he is not as versatile as Aditya....he will not be able to pull it off like that.

You can't say for sure. This is all hypothetical, both my opinion and yours. So what if he was senior, as you rightly said, the PT concentrated on solving crimes rather than looking at the relationship between officers, everything was very cordial. But as the days went by and CID became more successful, the PT thought of looking into the lives of those officers. That's why we see all these Daya-Abhijit scenes. So, the truth is that Viren wasn't exposed to such situations, so can't say for sure. However, there is a posibility of him being involved in such situations in the Missing Bullet episode and the first episode of CID, where he came in with hatred for ACP as he was not used to him, but as ACP shot his 'son', Viren started respecting him. SO, those are a few potential episodes where we can se Viren getting some scope for emotion.

Why are we arguing about Viren and Abhijeet? Viren is gone...11 years back and Abhijeet is here. Even if you are a die-hard fan of Ashutosh Gowarikar, he is not going to come back.

For eg there is the episode - revenge of the criminal...where Abhijeet gets stuck in a mess and he handles everything on his own...Daya doesn't help him. Same is the case with the Staged murder episode...Abhijeet offers words of support, but the problem was solved by Salunkhe. The same applies to Revenge of the father, Accused officer, Impossible murder etc.

But the Missing bullet was one case where (as far as my memory goes) Viren put in all the hard work to prove Daya innocent. That's why this case is different.

hmmm I would say that is would be a very oversimplified way of looking at it. One need to see each case individually. There are some things an Investigator can do and some which only a Forensic doc can do.

Like during STAGED MURDER, Daya Sir and that dead man were the only two people in the room and the later was found dead with marks that seemed like he was punched in the face. What could the investigator do here. It had to be a Forensic person to find correct and valid explanations. While in MISSING BULLET, the Forensic Doc can't do anything unless he gets the bullet that was fired at Daya Sir, it was upto the investigator to find the bullet.

Its not like the team just leaves the fellow CID Team member stuck in the mess to deal with on his own. They investigate and eventually prove that member was not guilty. Daya Sir was there in the communication center all day long in Accused Officer case, finding clues in Impossible Murder case. During Revenge of father, Abhi Sir said whatever Daya Sir did was to save him and they all worked together to find the kid.

Also I think a lot depends on how ACP Sir first reacts to the situation. If ACP starts screaming shouting at the member accused, his juniors can't do much except lend support and try their be to fins the truth. However reading through the written description of Missing Bullet, it seems liked even when Daya Sir was accused he has full faith from ACP. Even before his name was cleared ACP told him that he was one of his best officers and he wanted Daya Sir to be out of the mess. While if you look at the cases later, he scolds the accused member and one almost gets a feeling that he has already assumed the member is guilty.
