Hey it's okay, don't make such confused faces.😆 Atleast you're not mistaking me for a girl like some of them did in the beginning.

Lemme explain, up here in Bengal Soumya is a masculine name, with the 'a' pronounced as 'o'. While in South or West India, Soumya or more often Sowmya is a feminine name, with the 'a' pronounced as 'aa'. So, if you write Sowmya it becomes a girl's name.

Ok... will take care not to do it again. =)) BTW, you live in Bengal?😛 I have many friends from Kolkatta on Orkut. Just don't seem to understand how they can all be studying to be engineers. You're in marketing. It's an exception.
I'm Bengali but I don't live in Bengal. I grew up there, but then lived in Bangalore, Mumbai and now for a few months Nagpur.
You're right, not just in Bengal, anywhere in India, guys try to join either medical or engineering courses. And there are so many engineering colleges (most of them low grade) that those who want to and have the money can easily go for it.
