Avinash and Rubina have been in the US since Oct 7. I have been in touch with them regularly and they have been sharing their experiences with me. Here is the summary of what they told me about the trip so far:

They landed in Houston on the 7th and were surrounded by people through out their stay in Houston. They barely slept a couple of hours each day while they were in Houston (that too after a long 24+ hour journey from Bombay). That is why they looked so "lost" in the pictures. This being their first trip they did not know what to expect. They were quiet overwhelmed with the schedule of events.

Both Avi and Ruby were very pleased to meet so many fans and were very appreciative of them for being so polite and courteous. They were very touched by the love and admiration their fans showered on them and they in turn were happy to oblige their fans with their time and the opportunity to take pictures with them. However, as always, there were exceptions. Some fans hounded them, some used deceptive means to get close to them, some knocked on their door at ungodly hour and disrupted what ever little sleep time they got, some grabbed food from their plate while having lunch 😡, etc., etc., But because of their sweet and courteous nature they took it in stride and moved on. They left Houston for New Jersey where they have some private engagements before they leave for WI / Trinidad. Their schedule in US is jam packed with appearances and events (both public and private). They will probably have no time for rest and relaxation or sight seeing 😔.

I will keep you all updated about Avina via this thread.

My humble request to fans who are planning to meet them -
Please use the rules of common courtesy when you meet AviNa. I know some may argue that they signed up for a public life when they decided to join the acting profession. But that does not mean they stop being real people just like us who need some space of their own. In spite of being so popular and appreciated the world over, both Avi and Ruby are very approachable, sweet, humble and friendly. So please reciprocate their goodness in kind.

I hope they take it as one of lifes experience which they will need to fall back on if they decide to pursue their careers in the entertainment industry. Being a celebrity does mean that ones life is not private anymore but that does not mean that there should be no privacy. I can understand that the fans are excited to meet them and probably in this excitement they are forgetting to mind themselves.

Anyway hopefully they are enjoying this trip and this interaction with their fans who love them a lot and I am sure that the feeling is mutual.😃

The response from the fan can be overwhelming... but it shows how popular they are.. As this is their first US tour I think all the fans wanted to see and talk with them forgetting that they are only one person and the fans are in hundreds... but taking food from their plates????? now that is something not so right...

The Huston Pictures showed pretty tight security around them. Prem said even the lobby on their floor was blocked from public.... Well I think in show business one has to get used to this kind of atmostphere... The more popular you are the more crazy the public can go over you.

On the fame point of view I think they are getting pretty awesome responses (minus those crazy moments) and I think as an actor that is a perfect berometer for the mercury of their fame...

But amongst all these I truly hope that they will have time to rest and refreshed and go shopping and sightseeing and enjoy the tour as the normal tourist... New York is awesome at this time of the year... Not too hot nor cold.. Just the perfect weather for sightseeing...

Thanks for posting this information as it is interesting for fans who couldn't attend their shows.

I think it is hard for actors to keep their lives private, but every individual needs to have their space that should be respected even by fans. But, this was the first time they are doing an event so far from India. As overwhelming as the first few days were, I expect that they would eventually be able to enjoy their trip in other cities as they would get used to the crowds and expectations. Hopefully, they will also be able to do some sightseeing away from the crowds.

As far as fans are concerned, however well-meaning they may be, their over- zealousness to get close to the stars may end up being very intimidating for Avinash and Rubina. It is hard for Avina if they are not given the minimum amount of private space that is needed - so hopefully they will get that.
