In friday episode Mahant jee ask from Dev the mantra he got from his father and Dev kept chanting slowly as he was recollecting cos of the injury to his head..
.
It is mentioned in the scriptures that any Guru Mantra should always be kept secret, even if it is common one..Like during the time of Upanayan Sanskaar (Yagyopaveet) or Janeyu (Thread) ceremony the boy or (Dwij) is given Guru mantra in his right ear by Pandit and this remains secret between them. Same thing applies in Mutts and Ashrams too where the head Priest or Guru gives the Mantra Diksha to his disciples and its kept secret.
Here the Filmy Mahant trying to show his acting histronics challenges Dev in front of people to reveal the Raj Purohit Mantra..another super blunder by dimwits..he could have asked any other difficult question from Dev..

Yes, I am a Brahmin by birth ( not by marriage) and know that Guru mantras are between the Guru and the "shishya" only. That applies to all Brahmin ceremonies.
But Raj, this group of CVs have taken so many liberties with Hinduism and rituals that I cannot call it anything but ignorance! 😕

Gardes this is not with CVs here in CB..in most of the serials they alway take liberties and show in their own style..even the mantras are chanted wrong..any ceremony or ritual we always hear the Ganesh mantra and Durga mantra..be it a wedding or death ceremony...it is a sheer ignorance..😕

Raj, I agree with you. I am appalled at some of the mantras chanted incorrectly and at the wrong occasions. I remember when my brother (older) got his sacred thread cermony, I wanted to recite the Gayatri Mantra just like he did (competition with what brother gets to do). My g/mother yelled at me that it is only for males who have had their Janeyu ceremony and it is done facing the Sun as a morning ritual. In the serials, Gayatri Mantra is recited by anyone and everyone. I cringe every time I hear it.

Gardes it is mentioned in scriptures that one should not recite Ved mantras at anytime and anywhere.. Gayatri being a Ved Mantra should not be played like nowadays we see on tv, in cars or in wedding or death ceremonies...they are breaking every norm n rule of Hinduism..😕

Chalhov...basically for them it is just a fictional story and they give importance to the emotions than the truth..thts why we see the heavy melodramas in courtroom which in real life doesnt happen...Just recently there is a new serial Mera naam roshan karegi...has started...in that the father dies and inspite of having two sons..the Daughter is performing all last rites...😕

Very interesting exchange set_raj & gardes.

Though, I didn't wanted to interfere, just wanted to state 1 point:

What is more shocking is the writers themselves are Bhramins .. yes, "Choubey" is a Bhramin surname!

p.s: above is just an FYI and should be taken as just that. I am not trying to cause any rift or point out something else (if there exists!).

Setraj, I also noticed the same thing. If Mahantji wanted to proof, Dev could have recited it in his ear, maximum - no need for the whole party present there to hear it!

But oh of course, if Dev had to softly whisper it in Mahantji's ear, there would be no drama, no impact. So obviously CV ko mazaa kahan aayega drama ke bina! So yeh naatak.

In the name of religion so many such things are done.

Chalhov dear, no offense taken at your post (being also a Brahmin by birth) even if not a Brahmin, there is so much of research and resources these days, anyone with the slightest ichcha of wanting to get facts right would check. But where do our CVs get their facts right, anyways??!!! Remember Gardes had said in some other post that she checked the past episode where sr RP had died, and he had not whispered or shouted any secret Mantra??? Then where did this suddenly emerge from???

Where there is a will there is a way but when no logic prevails then how can we expect that from CVs like the other things amnesia curing of burns which is medically incorrect so also religiously incorrect things r shown it is the drama factor that is important to them not logic.
