The Creatives made an obscene gesture at us today for writing letters to them to end the Vishakha track! Today I saw one of the most insipid shows of CB!
After watching the show, on hindsight I felt that today's show had so much potential and the half hour felt wasted in patao dialogues, non-direction and lack of jhanoon between 2 people who I expected to display it the most - Dev and Radhika - not because they don't know how but because they were not given the right material to work with.
The fault is with the Creatives' team!
Of all people you can watch on Indian television, Dev and Radhika HAVE CHEMISTRY! They have displayed such chemistry in sad, happy and melodramatic moments!
The whole story revolves around the one truth that has been hidden from the world - Dev and Radhika's first wedding, the heart and soul of this show!. One would expect the moment when it comes out and the conversation between them to be electrifying, passionate, angry, and a whole slew of emtions that leads to the eventual understanding of each other in the most meaningful of ways.
So what if Dev and Radhika love each other unconditionally, but Dev was the aggrieved party. He was put through a lifetime of hell in the short period of time he was with Vishakha. I expected him to be more human and show his pain to Radhika even as far as a couple of episodes. I expected him to realize Radhika's pain too and Radhika's fight for her astitva in the Shashtri household. I was not asking to see the evidence, I know what it is. All I wanted was the PASSION, the CHEMISTRY that comes from great dialogues, the UNDERSTANDING at the end why they maintain their eternal and unconditional love for each other.
Was I asking too much? Nah!
What I got was one moment of Dev's anger and that too at Ms Butinsky who was in every room and frame, a few pat dialogues, Radhika's crying like her old self and dull, dull, dull interaction. How can 2 actors who are responsible for the reason I watch this show be subjected to such crap by the Creatives, I will never understand. They are so hung up on their circles and carrots - the 2 Cs - that they cannot see how much they are hurting their own show!
For shame!

Gardes,
I was not planning to write this, but despite myself I was anticipating today's show. It was such a let down for all the reasons you mentioned and more. I was comparing it with last year's April 29th episode and what a difference in performances and script. The script really let down Dev and Radhika.
I knew that Dev would believe Radhika in first few minutes. It was no brainer. He knows Radhika for more than a year now and whom would he believe - Vishaka or Radhika. Obviously, he would know that Radhika did it out of obligation towards her family and would forgive in the end. It is the middle part that was such a let down.
The creatives have decided that half of the show must belong to Vishaka and she must be given those stupid dialogues where nobody contradicts her as everyone becomes dumb in front of her.
1. The talk between Radhika and Dev just before the first wedding. I may be wrong, butI thought it was not known to anybody. Suddenly, Vishaka knows about it because Radhika told her?? I don't think Vishaka told this conversation to Dev during the wedding night. But whatever.
2. The inane dialogues between Radhika and Dev. Radhika saying that she did it as a sacrifice just as he finally accepted Vishaka. Well, Dev decided to move on only after Radhika told him that she was getting married to someone else, doesn't love him, his father died and he became RP. Even then he never moved on with Vishaka and begged Radhika several times to let him divorce Vishaka so that three lives are not ruined. Also, even if he decided to move on, he was under the impression that Vishaka was his official and religious wife. On the other hand, Radhika knew that Vishaka was not married to Dev, was running away from home for her movie career, was making video and planning to sleep with Dev without marriage. Radhika never stopped that or took any action to prevent that. I was expecting Dev to point that out that it was a sin as a RP for him to sleep with Vishaka and Radhika allowed that sin. If the sin didn't happen, it was because of Dev and not because of Radhika.
3. I accepted Dev to point otu that she used in a way him and his family to pay her debts to Shastri family. also, the sacrifice should be for the worthy person adn not for the unworthy. Basically, Radhika allowed Vishaka to do all that damage to Dev and his family. She never expressed remorse not even today. The old Dev from last year would have told her off for that. I accepted them to have at least 2 episodes to discuss this and then come back after Radhika was suitably repentant and realized her mistakes. Nothing like that happened.
4. Finally, Vishaka is talking those stupid dialogues about Radhika always lying and making fool of this nice family. How come Dadi was not given a single dialogue where she said that Vishaka was the one who got Dadi arrested that morning by lying blatantly to the police. So, if it comes between Vishaka adn Radhika, Radhika wins hands down. If Vishaka is low enough to want to sleep with dev for one night, she is capable of so much more and everyone knows that.
Now, coming to Shastriji, hasn't he seen his mother in action now - first at Mehndi and then at PB threatening to send the entire family to the jail by burning Vishaka. If she was a witness, why would he be inclined to believe her over Radhika. If she let that sin happen at the first wedding, won't she lie even now? How is her testimony preferred over just taking Radhika's word who hasdone numerous sacrifices for him and his family? For that matter, why would PF believe Amma who just ruined their lives? Hopefully, tomorrow's episode would be more logical.
Wasn't planning to write anything but had to vent after seeing today's episode. Now getting sure that Devki is going to lie too and Radhika won't be believed until the photo comes out probably courtesy of Birju who is the smartest of them all at this time.

Gardes my favourite part in todays episode was Vaishali, Vivek and Birjus conversation.............their dialogues were more or less sensible and fitted the story........but the remaining was hogwash.....Vishaka barges in wherever she wants and everyone just stares at her as if she is the Joan of Arc on some resue mission........RaDevs conversation was something that we were all waiting for but that was bland and insipid...........I don't know when they are going to realise that just having good looking actors is not enough........they have to be given powerful dialogues to emote to.............here it was we have to act so we are........as you have said the fault is not Rubi or Avi.........we all know that they can act.......instead of utilising them for the maximum effect they insist on emphasising on the deluded Joan of Arc and her howls and tantrums............tmrw we might see the other Florence Nightingale wadling in to protect her poti from bodily harm..........what utter crap. I have watched that RaDev scene about 5-6 times in the hope that I will feel something, I did but it was irritation.

I agree with you both. Although I liked today's episode. But it had alot more potential. There was no need for Vishaka to be in this episode. Creatives have lost their mind in their obsession with Priyanka. Radhika and Dev have such a great chemistry that this would have been the best episode. The pain and anguish that both have gone because of this bride switching act. The trial and tribulations that they underwent. I just expected more than it was shown. These are same director and cinematographer as before.......I don't know what happen to them. Maybe they're pressured by production house or Zee TV for reasons of their own.

I was comparing it with last year's April 29th episode and what a difference in performances and script. The script really let down Dev and Radhika. - Oh God and how! How could the core of the story be reduced to 10 minutes of air time between Dev and Radhika? Dev was made to look like a sissy!
Yes, he would definitely believe Radhika, it is a given, but aren't there other emotions? Dev is not God, nor is he so in love that he sees past Radhika's actions of the past year more than a few seconds. Yes he saw her being manipulated, used and abused but she USED him badly too, in a way!
- I ffwded when Vishakha came on as nothing she says is meaning ful anymore!
If the sin didn't happen, it was because of Dev and not because of Radhika. - I know the past and what happened as a viewer and thus it need not to be regurgitated, but for once I would have loved to see the hurt revisted on Dev's face, be human, man! I wanted Radhika to say a lot more than crying, joining her hands and begging forgiveness.
- I totally agree! This was a moment for all the parties sans Vishakha, she is shameless, to resolve the pain of the past year, a cathartic moment with emotions and melodrama, but the opportunity was WASTED!
- Vishakha's upper hand will continue ad nauseum! Everyone else will look dumb next to her and Amma.
- Just so inane, illogical, (I have run out of words!)!
Wasn't planning to write anything but had to vent after seeing today's episode. Now getting sure that Devki is going to lie too and Radhika won't be believed until the photo comes out probably courtesy of Birju who is the smartest of them all at this time. - As the unnecessary melodrama continues while they walk right past the one area that needed to be and could have been built up so well! So idiotic! Here the carrots would have been appropriate and made so much sense! Who is minding the store at Zee TV, pray tell!???

Gardes ... My initial reaction after watching the show was what you felt ... dismay that they had let go of a golden opportunity to create a beautiful episode totally revolving around raDev, stretching the moments when they look at each other with anger, anguish, and maybe finally acceptance. I did not expect Dev to agree so quickly ... it took less than quarter of an episode. And I dont know how much of what they shot was edited out ... and they did not advertise it at all. It was good ... but it could have been electrifying

Then I had a thought that maybe there was more to come. Was this Dev's first reaction.? Would he go back and think back through some of the grief he felt and come back for to confront Rads. Would that be a mega episode. I dont know ... but if this is all they wanted to show as far as Dev's anguish for all that he went through and Rad's justification of why she kept the truth from him, I would be disappointed that they do not understand what makes their show tick

Thanks, Mishti, for your views. This show, with so much potential, is on such a downward spiral! The Creatives team is so clueless about its own story that to expect redemption is like asking for the moon and the stars!

Hogwash is a good way to describe it.
Vishakha is on a pogo stick and bounces from one scene to the next, all over PB, and from one sick story to another where the logic and viewers' maturity level is not even a consideration.
What utter nonsense! If Birju, Vaishali and Vivek make sense, it is lost in all the silliness before and after!

Thank you Tazzi. This needed to be a Dev and Radhika week on CB to get together as husband wife away from Vishakha popping up everywhere like a jack-in-the-box and working out the last of the untruths so that the 2 can fight their foes as one. The show lacked vitality when it was most needed! What Dev did in Goa was needed here to a greater degree to show his reaction to his suffering!

Gardes,
I am feeling the same. I have stopped visiting the forum the way I used to, but still was looking forward to today's episode. I was expecting Dev to believe Radhika in first 2 minutes and then having a confrontation with her at least today and hopefully tomorrow with some moments dedicated to Dadi and Vaishali. But, it was all dominated by Vishaka with 3-5 minutes given to Dev and Radhika on the biggest lie between them. Dev was so outraged at Radhika's deception last year even though he didn't even know for sure that she loved him. Now, when Radhika's lie caused so much harm in reputation and health to his beloved family, it is dealt like that. Dev always felt an unconditional eternal love towards Radhika. But, that didn't stop him from getting angry at her several times. Even in January, Dev was getting angry at Radhika when he felt that she wasn't giving him enough time and this was when Radhika was injured and doing things for his family. Now, her actions have foisted Vishaka on Dev's house and she has created so much havoc and Dev forgives Radhika so easily. Today, I didn't feel that Radhika has any sort of undying love for Dev as she so easily equated her own actions with his actions of accepting Vishaka (which was done after tremendous pressure from Radhika and that too for few moments as Dev even after Vat Savitri decided that he can't have relations with Vishaka).
I was expecting Dev to say something when Radhika was talking about nobody adopting an orphan girl. I expected him to say that adopting somebody doesn't mean that the adoptee should do unlimited sacrificies or do wrong things to pay some sort of debt. Then, I thought that probably they are leaving these dialogues for Shastriji. But, everything else was so unnatural on Dev's part. I expected him to connect Radhika's sindoor and other rituals with him. Probably, they are saving for future episodes. Today could have been an award winning performance by both Rubina and Avinash, but they weren't given any worthy material. So disappointing. I can easily watch last April's episode - so powerful was their acting and script despite the lies by Radhika. Today everything was open between Radhika and Dev and could have had a great conversation. But, they lost the opportunity.
Last year, Vishaka was only shown if her character was needed. Now, she is shown in every frame. Last year, I liked Vishaka despite her selfishness and self-centerdness. Now, she is so revolting that it is hard to tolerate her in this show ( I am talking about the character of Vishaka and not Priyanka Misra). They showed 2-3 episodes on ONS and 5 minutes for this confrontation. Anyway, not much else to say.

Rajsri, thanks for your thoughts. In 10 words or less, today's episode can be described as:
Radhika: I lied about the first marriage.
Dev: Oh, Ok! Lets talk to PF!
And off they go hand-in-hand to explain to Daadima and Shashtriji? Such crap! No emotions? No nothing? How could the Creatives degrade their lead pair and their own show like this? The more to come part will be more crassness from Vishakha and Amma, plus their tiring nautanki!
