Ladies I'm going to jump in here and agree that my hubby finds CB to be rather awful and thinks I'm sick for watching a show where a young girl was burned alive on her wedding day. However he watches both PR and KB religiously...go figure! I guess different soaps for different folks!

My husband is a pretty happy camper now ... i have conned him into thinking he has a great life and great wife ... def dont want him thinking i should be like rads!!! 😆

One of the episode was where Vaishali is telling,"Pata nahin Radhika ka kaunsa khoon hai"[We do not know which blood Radhika belongs to"].
[Actually the subtitles are really fast, I admit, it is difficult to catch the expression as well as the translation below)]
I was commenting "See what is Vaishali telling!!"
He had a questioning look, which told me, I need to explain further, but I wanted to know how much he understood before I start.
I started, "After watching these many episodes, you must have understood some hindi? Okay tell me what is the meaning of khoon?"
He started thinking and said, "Khoon means murder right?"
Needless to say, I was shocked initially and then I brust out laughing!! [if you have watched some of the hindi film, they will have a scene of a girl screaming out from a room "Khoon Khoon"!]
I was ROFL and thought OMG! Is this what he is understanding?!
I still have my doubts whether he is getting the dialogues/story right!

I wish I had downloadable US TV versions of Choti Bahu, would have made my work simpler. But I will give a shot at making him watch the older episodes.
I hope instead of driving him towards, I might drive him away with my constant running commentary bcos of lack of subtitles in the online downloadable episodes.

Yesterday he was asking, "Is this all real?"😕
I just questioningly shook my head. To which he said, "Whatever they show, are these all real?" 😕
I understood his questioning might be, "Do people song and dance before they are sent off to Honeymoon?"😆
I was shocked again and thought let me not say anything, to which he is continuing further, "Maybe in North India people do that right?".😆
I was like - "Are you crazy?, How can you be so naive?" [No, I didn't say those], I simply said, "No, it is just in this serial they are doing. It doesn't happen in real."

So, rajsri,
I too am scared that he might think that I am supposed to follow all those Radhika's dharms!!

Gardes,
I know and fully agree ... but I keep telling myself "Try try Try ..till you succeed!"
A hindi film revolting song comes into my mind - 'Lage Raho ... DaTe Raho .... Himmat na Haro", don't know from which film is that song or what the full lyrics are.
I wish the US TV versions of CB was also available online.

bee5 🤣 🤣

your convo with your hubby is too funny
My hubby unfortunately grew up in Mumbai and is extremely good at Hindi ... I am not ... so I am sure he will relay all the patni dharm dialogues to me while all the pati dharm ones will go over my head. He will also be very intrigued with the whole lakshman rekha thing and how he can keep me in check ... so i had better not show him any of this 😉

Atleast your hubby sat through all the torture that dev went through ... mine did not .... 😆

Guys, I joined your conversation too late. But this is my experience. My husband can not stand Hindi soaps or movies. His experience is because whenever he went to India in last few years, his sister or mother would be watching Ekta's serials with a lot of zooming and sound effects and gaalis etc. Anyway, he would run to his room upstairs whenever the TV would start on soaps. I used to hate them too until CB. So, now when ever I want to remove him from the room, I tell him that I am going to watch Hindi soap and he is welcome to stay with me and give me company. He leaves the room within 5 minutes. I definitely don't want him to watch CB because Radhika's dialogues of Patni dharam and her worship of Dev would spoil my husband and it has taken me several years to teach him that he is lucky to have me and this is how the wives should be. Don't want him to get spoiled by Radhika type wives.
