Oh is it? However, a few days back an article said that the makers had planned it from right in the beginning to make Barkha negative. So how come the actress doesn't know?
There can be 2 possibilities --
Either the makers hadn't thought of making Barkha negative, rather wanted to keep her as a positive person but since she was annoying the audience anyways, they decided to make her a negative person (plus drama is needed for TRP, so for the sake of TRP the character was shifted to being negative) ...although i feel, the makers surely had an option open. I mean there were many instances even when Barkha was miss-goody-two shoes, wherein we thought she would turn negative -- like Rohan's tying up or the scene where Barkha stood mute when Dev took her name, etc. ! So i guess the makers decided to make her negative, because her being positive was not fetching much TRP's anyways.
OR, the makers had thought of making Barkha negative from the beginning, but since Benaf's getting hate messages, she wanted to save her audience.
Nevertheless, i think making Barkha negative is the easiest way to keep up RaDev's image in front of the audience. Had Barkha been positive, people would have thought bad of RaDev...since they used Barkha for fulfilling their own wishes, that is too protect the family honor and for being together with each other (Dev wanted this arrangement so that he can be with Rads) So they both would have come across as highly selfish people. Remember how a Volcano had erupted in the forum when Dev took Barkha's name?? The writers wanted to shift the focus from their mistakes -- what other way than to make Barkha negative. So RaDev's mistakes are being pushed behind the curtain...and Barkha's SINS are being brought forward! So now we sympathize with Rads and hate Barkha (we always did that ;)) So now we are not worried about Barkha's future (which we might have thought earlier, as she was an innocent earlier) and we want RaDev to unite and destroy this Barkha.
