Raj very well said! Yes, they were huge glaring bloopers. It seems like a RP/RPtian will be given every single inch of importance in these kind of rituals...other members of the family, even if they are older to the RP/RPtian would be snubbed off! Weird people. I too was wondering if there is actually any ritual where the RPtian compulsorily has to light the diya? Why didn't the mahant ask BB? She is afterall the Badi Bahu and hence can get this right (if a woman has to do it!). Or else GD could have done it. Dev/Rohan/Virat...there were so many men! But then how can they show that scene of apprehension and then finally Barkha doing it! Barkha -- who is not even related to RP was made to light the diya by Radhika! Great!

Then, despite the presence of GD, Dev was asked to light the pyre. just because he is the future RP? Even i was really confused at this scene was was asking to my screen as to why can't GD do it? Shouldn't the oldest son be given the right to do this? Everywhere in the world, its the same!

And ofcourse, the RP puja! I mean the abhishek! When there has been a death in a family, not necessarily a RP family but any normal family, people avoid having any Shubh kaam because its a mourning period. These poeple being RPs didnt understand this? They want to show Dev being RP so hastily? Are woh abhi abhi to chita ko aag lagake aaya hai...and ur asking him to get married! Is this a joke or what! They should maintain some reality in it atleast!! People wouldn't like this at all! Small bloopers can be avoided but not such glaring bloopers na? Also if Dev is given a 13 day period before he is bombarded with such questions, he can atleast think of some way!

Padma telling everyone to eat fruits only for 13 days...
There is no such rule that one has to eat fruits for 13 days...the family is not supposed to eat onion and garlic during this time...avoid outside food...no celebrations in the house during 13 days...
Raj you are right , they are just going on with their own rituals , Yes in earlier days , their was no cooking done at home, it were relatives, who used to send the food for thirteen days , and it used to be Fried food , means poori and all with one sweet , that used to be called Pakka Khana ...There was not nothing like that you had to eat only fruits , at least in Delhi and surroundings , this was the custom...that time there were joint families , now nothing like that , just in small towns , still cooking is not done for four five days ...

Sia very well said..
You got the point.this is what I am trying to say about Radhika doing a Adharma..why did she allowed Barkha to light the Diya?...being RajPurohit family they shud show each and everything in authentic way..not just rushing for Rpship or Abhishek...even if Dev is announced they never showed in CB1 or now that he is busy whole in Rajya Sabha..(Not in DELHI) RP Sabha or doing Matths work..he is running after Radhika and spend romantic time with her..so why this rush now?..
Wedding in Mourning period?...Abhishek in Mourning period?...Eldest son not performing last rites?...A stranger single girl lites the Diya?..this is Dharma of RP's?...If CB and Dev are so important and they have to do everything, every ritual, every tradition then what the elders in family for?...ignoring the elders also is BIG ADHARMA..doesnt Cvs knows this?this is the disrespect of elders..
There is no celebrations or functions or parties for first 13 days in the house cos of Mourning, once the 13 day prayer is done thn they can announce Abhishek of Dev..this simple logic Mahant doesnt know or shud I say CVs...such an ignorant CT..?

Raj, all other points are fine. But I was ok with Dev lighting up the fire. But it should not be the decision of Mahant. It should have been Dada's decision. So people put in their will that they want this person to light the fire for their funeral because he is more important the son. But it is not dharam thing, it is a personal choice.

Since Dev is Dada's true heir in emotional sense, Dada can put it in his will and convey it to Mahant. But the way they showed it was extremely stupid and not according to Hinduism. Mahant himself would never recommend Dev doing it. He would be just honoring Dada's wishes.

Angie it is mentioned in Garuda Puran that the eldest son should light the Pyre, incase he is sick or not well thn the second son shud be given the chance...but here Dev is youngest..Virat and Rohan are elder thn him..
Agreed that he was fav of Raj purohit, thn he shud have made the will or told Mahant tht only Dev will light my pyre..it was simple...and one more thing GD is Dev's uncle or chacha...if the father dies elder brother is looked upon as father...same thing if father dies chacha is looked upon as father...Dev cannot take the rights of GD..he shud have told Mahant that it is the Duty of GD being an eldest son, thn if GD had told Dev to perform it was correct...Dev as a future RP shud have known this...
Emotions are secondary thing when it is about Dharma..one cannot snatch the right of others is also a dharma and this is what it was shown..yes Cvs did stupid thing and they are totally ignorant about Hinduism..

Excellent post and wonderful explanation of some important issues..as i dont know about hinduism that much so it is very helpful for me to read ur views and as well as others and definitely another mentor i have who is providing me all information about this religion which is cvs of cb2 .whatever they r showing i am learning.but whenever i am reading ur post about those holy issues trust me i am confused..who is right U or CVS?😕
i just wonder y cvs try to follow and to show the viewers this cb story based on holy religious concept ?if they want to follow the holy scriptures then they should follow the exact real things step by step not self made unrealistic things...as a result make confused to the viewers all around the world ... there are different religion ppl r watching this show...and whatever cvs r showing they believe this ,getting false conception of religious matters ..very shame ful and sad...
CVS make the holy marriage as mockery as they can do..jab chaho shaadi karlo, banalo jeewan sangini... jab marzi pati (sindoor)ko kisike hawaale kardo...kiya farq padta? what a pathetic idea... even they dont want to follow the legal law.. all the rituals they have shown yesterdays episode i have believed, with a ? on my face but now i have read ur article and again confused..
pls cvs if u want to hold the audience just wake up from ur Rip van winkle sleep...

agree with you'll today. radev go to kahna's mandir and praying. how come they can go to the temple before that 13 day's of period.why cant CV's think that we people living in a realistic world. and we lead normal life. only in CB always there is a party, function, one person marrying two wives, kidnaps blah blah. i am not criticizing the show i love the show becoz of Radev they are the center characters, things like this ruin the image of the whole show, and Radev as well. i don't like that part.

CV's should be vigilant enough to think how a normal person will come across the solutions when there is a problem, and make the show more interesting,

Thanks Kinara..let me make one thing clear whatever they had shown in last few days about last rites of RP is wrong...each and every Hindu knows that upon a death of father it is eldest son lights the pyre and not the youngest Grandson...But our so called creatives and even in bollywood movies they break this rule...it is a simple reason...for them a HERO or a LEAD ACTOR has right to do everything and anything cos he is a HERO..same thing applies here Dev is a HERO..so obviously he will do everything...being a future RP doesnt he know this simple rule?..doesnt Mahant knows about it?...by ignoring or disrespecting the elders is also ADHARMA...did DEV gave the respect to GD?..did he ask his permission?...
Cvs are to be blamed for such a pathetic poor script and screenplay and their ignorance about Hinduism...Emotions has no value when it comes to Dharma..cos Dharma means to do the right thing, do not snatch the rights of other..these dialogues writers only knows how to write sugar coated dialogues and people are carried away and support the HERO and HEROINE as if they are PERFECT HUMAN BEINGS in the world, whatever they are doing is correct. for them..
