Another daily for Daljit

Daljit Kaur of Kulvaddhu fame has bagged a new show on Star Plus. She'll be playing one of the leads in Shakuntalam's Santaan. Beside this, she also has a Star One's Choona Hai Aasmaan.

"I'm playing the role of Suhana, who is very much like me. Santaan is a show which portrays the relation of a parent with its child. It has a strong message for the current generation" says Daljit.

Elaborating further on her character, she says, "This role is very simple and easy for me. I play the youngest child in the family who is very pampered and little spoiled. Gaurav and Sudeep play the role of my elder brothers who are possessive about me. It's a beautiful character that every girl can relate with"

She adds further "It feels great to be a part of Santaan. Through this show, I'm able to create some awareness among the youth and can make them realise the importance of parents in their lives. The generation gap is always there between parents and children and then how does things change is the USP of the story. It's something that occurs in each and every house"

Daljit is also playing a strong character in Choona hai' "This show is basically about air force and I portray a challenging role. I can't reveal much as my entry is going to be surprise package. My character is going to bring some twist in the tale," she quips.

Iqbal Khan on wife Sneha, taking a break from work and why space is not important in a marriage.

Few years back, when Iqbal Khan met the 16-year-old Sneha Chhabra in Hyderabad, where they featured for the Falguni Pathak video 'Main Teri Diwani Hoon', he dismissed his co-star as 'a kid'. Years later, Iqbal bumped into Sneha again only to exchange numbers. Today, they are man and wife.

Special Sneha

Quiz the Balaji boy, what made him zero in on Sneha and he elucidates, "Marriage is not just about you and me, it's also about our families. Sneha is a homely person. Her approach to life is straightforward."

Togetherness tales

Iqbal is enjoying this extended honeymoon. "I'm enjoying doing small things like taking a walk, watching movies. As long as we are together, it doesn't matter what we are doing," reveals Iqbal.

Marriage marvel

He adds, "Marriage brings a feeling that somebody is always there for you – anytime, anywhere." He states further, "Irrespective of whether I perform well or not, I know there's somebody in this world in whose eyes I am the hero!"

Possessively yours

Considering that the Khan of the small-screen peaks the popularity charts, does it make Sneha possessive? "I'm a very good boy! I don't give her a chance to be so," retorts Iqbal adding, "Sneha handles the fan department. She even replies to them."

No space required!

Iqbal does not believe in the concept of 'space' in a relationship. "I do my thing you, do your thing doesn't appeal to me. This implies that either the couple does not get along or is on the verge of a break-up."

Sneha on Iqbal:

I found him responsible and caring. That's why I decided to spend my life with him. I've got myself a lap top because I enjoy recording his interviews on TV and in print.
He's a simple person. Despite being an actor, he doesn't spend hours in front of the mirror.
He pampers me like a child and even helps me in the kitchen or while putting the clothes to dry.
I love his emotive eyes and voice.

Flying high

---------------------------------------
Janvi Chheda tells Sonal D'Silva that she has learnt a lot from her current role of a fighter pilot
---------------------------------------
Actress Janvi Chheda stars in Star One's newly-launched Chhoona Hai Asmaan, the sequel to the hit show Saara Akash.

- How does it feel to be playing a flight lieutenant?
I'm very excited! I play Flight Lieutenant Sameera Singh. She is a weapons officer and is very attached to her family and friends. She is so patriotic that she would do anything for her country. She is hardworking and determined. She is actually just like your regular girl-next-door, the only difference being that she's a fighter pilot.

- What is the one special thing about the experience?
I've really started respecting the uniform that they wear. You start respecting the lives that these officers lead. It takes courage to fly planes in such life-threatening situations. Such roles don't come your way everyday, and I'm learning a lot from this opportunity. It was truly a learning experience.

- This is your first big role on a prime time show…
Yes, and that's challenging too! Smiles It is very hectic, but exciting too. I love it. I'm a Mumbai girl. I did my schooling and college here, and then started my career with theatre. I have anchored an ETC Gujarati show, and have also starred in other regional shows before being shortlisted for this one. So, this current role on prime time television is very special to me.

- What do you in your free time?
I'm a simple girl (laughs). I like hanging out with family and friends. I hardly get any free time due to my busy shooting schedule, so when I'm off shooting, I just prefer relaxing at home and catching up with loved ones.

- What next?
My entire focus is on this show as of now. I'm giving it my all. As for my future goals, films are definitely on my mind. Whenever I'm asked about films, I always say, 'Yeah, why not?' It's good to keep options open. But, yes, I will take things one at a time, and continue to work on good roles that come my way.

---------------------------------------
- Was there any special preparation you had to undergo for the role?
Yes, we had to go through rigorous training. It was really challenging. We had regular martial arts and physical training for two and a half months before shooting. We would go to Juhu beach every morning and train for two hours. Later, we were given a detailed briefing by Air Force officers about different aspects of their life — body language, how one should conduct oneself, and the lifestyle of an officer. We really did a lot of homework before shooting.

what i dnt like about this show and it makes me angry 😔 that its another boring same terrorist thing!where its only about 'border ke us paar' crap!again these type of serials do not help matters,we are trying to get on well with each other 😊 yet serials like this just cause rifts between muslims and other religions. 😔 i know the indian army just does not do this, šŸ‘ but works on other areas!please think of original things, and get rid of all this bull!! 😔
