So this won't be a typically backward rural set up ... the landlord is more Westernized and modern, Rudra is an army/BSF man ... so this not a period type of show. Good ... I don't like the recent novel adaptations on tv and even movies ... the novel is set in feudal pre-independence India, but the adaptation is set in modern times, and there is too much disconnect.

Dastaan is more than a story ... it's an epic tale. Kahani is story. By using the word Dastaan, they have made it more than a simple story.
