The emphasis can be on the marriage but the undercurrent can be of how UB's house is brought together. Having a parallel lead would indefinitely shift the focus of the show instead of introducing a twist during the newlywed period. There is plenty of backstory which I think deserves more focus at the moment, in an effort to define the show more.

Agree with you ... would have preferred to keep the focus on the family relationships and how Chhanchhan bridges the disunity in the family ... plus more on the theme of changing rigid traditions. This will dilute the focus. Let's see how the cv's take it ... will wait and watch.

She may be Thakkar's daughter but I don't know, they need to establish the show first. Too much of everything and nothing really looked into at Ny depth. This will probably end up the same way?

Well I doubt Mansi-Rughved story is going to go anywhere. The actor Srman has quit and it has been 2 months since the jungle campfire and there has been no revisiting Mansi-Rughved story till now. So I really doubt if the creatives would go back to Mansi becoming the bahu of Sarabhai family. Going forward it would be gradual phasing out of CC's family and would be just CC,UB, 3 bahus and Manav in the show.

That's what it looks like and that is the sad part. Having more core characters developed gives the show more scope in which it can explore. I am betting Srman quit because his character is vanity at best. Unless they plan on expanding some other aspect of the characters, which requires writing, I would have guessed development of existing characters. (In other words, parallel lead? 😊)

With Srman, he has a damn good part in Saas Bina Sasural season 2. He was one of the brothers in the show and his character had its own story, own faults and 2-3 tracks that revolved entirely around him. And he seems to have bagged a damn good role in Adalat with Ronit Roy which is one of the top shows on this channel. So doesn't make sense to stick around in this show where he is having hardly 1-2 scenes in a week. That is a pity that this PH is just introducing new characters when they have such an good ensemble of characters and they could have explored the story better with the cast they have on hand rather than introduce new characters. I am boggled - Optimystrix was the same PH which had limited number of characters in Saas Bina Sasural season 1 and they played around them so good - each and every character had an story and they didn't introduce new characters until and unless they were really needed to progress the story forward. Here they seem to be jumping around without any concrete story on hand

I don't know why! I'm watching the show for Sanaya. Least interested in another female lead!

The CVs (I hope they are not as idiotic as in her previous show) need to focus on the marriage first. They need to delve into the characters they have on hand rather than introducing new characters. Unless this new lead is Thakkar's daughter and is part of UB's plan,(in which case, she should not be there for too long,) I see no basis for such a character. This is a really interesting concept that they have here - about the idealogies that keep one from progressing. And how a change resisted but necessary, is brought about. I hope they don't ruin it.

I don't want to stop watching the show (I did that with her previous show when they brought in the other woman. No matter how much I love Sanaya and how fabulous a job she was doing, I could not bear to watch her character be humiliated, when the CVs changed her character from one of substance to one who was a dithering idiot! Although, Chhan Chhan's character is vastly different here. But then, her previous character started out fantastic, too! ) As long as Chhan Chhan is not humiliated, ridiculed, taunted, ignored by her new husband, whilst he makes merry with an ex or college mate, then I guess they could show this track, although I see no necessity of it. Unless, as I said, she is Thakkar's daughter and they need to show how desperate UB is to rid Chhan Chhan of Manav.

I'm not a fan of "the other woman" type of shows.

Agree with you - No need to get in this angle when the marriage itself is only 3 days old. But hope the creatives have an idea of what they are doing and are not just introducing characters just for the sake of it.

@Bold:- That would throw the premise of the show out the window so hoping it is not the 'the other woman' in the show here.
