I'm giving it a month's time, not a week to begin with ... I watched Sanaya's previous show from the very first episode too, and I had almost given up on it after 3 weeks ... it was the fourth week that really hooked me back ... so every show takes at least a month to settle in, I think. But I am going to watch anyway ... month or two months or two years, however long it airs ...

But I am waiting for Uma Ben to unfold slowly ... she does not seem the type to be scared of her husband at all ... rather, she seems to use his name and other people's names as shoulders to fire her weapons from, while she keeps her own image intact. Remains to be seen if she does so with her husband's knowledge and full consent, or she manages to hoodwink him as well ... her husband had no intention of firing Tushar bhai after the broken wedding, merely wanted to give him a telling off, that too was based on Uma Ben's version of the story. Now will he agree to sacking Tushar bhai, or will Uma Ben further twist things to make it seem that Tushar bhai left of his own accord ... that will make her very black though, and Supriya P did say that she is not playing a typical vamp MIL ... so I am wondering how they will take it.

Also the undercurrents are slowly emerging ... Uma Ben's eldest son left home three years ago and she had to cajole him to come back ... so there are cracks in this family which have been papered over and they will slowly emerge, as will each son's story ... similar to the previous show of this PH, I guess. There will be light moments interspersed with the telling of the story.

Agree with other comments here ... Manav is not a typical 'yes, maji" mamma's boy, he has a mind of his own, and he knows how to get around his mother ... that makes him more interesting. So there is no Mom-worship here ...
And Uma Ben may be strict and dogmatic, but she seems to be more malleable in the hands of her youngest son ... she gives in to him, even though with bad grace and much grumbling ... but she does. But am guessing he has done nothing serious against her wishes till now ... that is gonna change and how! 😆

I want to see her double standards exposed ... son can roam around in shorts and running vest, but DIL's have to keep pallu over their heads even at home ... such double standards that exist everywhere even today.

Great post. I still don't think Uma Ben's hubby is strict or maybe I'm influenced by an article that said she paints her hubby as very strict so that her DILs will be fearful of him and always obey her orders.

I found Sanaya being excellent as Chanchan and even Farhan is improving. The doggies are the bonus.
