I saw a few things wrapped up under one thread:
1) Gujarati annoying: to me, it is not as I am gujju but I think too many one liner gujju dialogue. I follow it fine but if it was in some random south indian languggae which i can;t follow i may not like it. so i guess gujju touch is ok - clothes, home, tone of dialogue etc but not dialogues
2) FK ; i think i like him he has good perosnality
3) chemistry : for now i feel none between the two, in QH, MJHT, IPKKND etc you could feel the connection right away for all the pairs they have. I hope it develops as the shows goes on
4) pace: i think it is little slow but hopeful it will pick up
5) concept: i just hope it does not get stuck into sas-bahu serial. I hope it is about changing out look of orthodox sas.

Well to be honest the only good thing about show is sanaya and supriya pathak and if you replace them then no one would bother to watch the show .

There are already shows which have similar concept but screenplay is diferent , and the major one is DABH which is again girl married into a family with strict traditions specially MIL and then she is changing their perspectives and their ways/thinking.

I hope it doesn't turn into typical DABH show becoz that's what TRP aunties love and hope it works out for sanaya .

Farhan's raw skills dont bother me as much as the dialogues and screenplay do. The jokes arent funny, the 'cute' scenes seem contrived and forced. The treatment isnt up to the mark and makers rely too much on Sanaya's popularity to carry it through ( which is unfair to her)

PS: I really wish Sanaya had picked another role. Going from Gunjan- Khushi, ChanChan is a bet of a let down. But Sanaya finally has great costumes and hopfully the show picks up for her sake. Atleast she moved forward from all those 'controversies'

Agree with u...Yes the show is very heavily depending on Sanaya's popularity...Still i will say to give some time to the show for picking up...its too early to comment...Hope it will pick up soon...

I think each to his or her own... I don't watch any other hindi shows that hasn't got Sanaya in it.. BUT i have a feeling just for Chhan Chhan's character (with another convincing reasonably good good looking actress) if i saw her interactions with the dogs n then the family in 1st episode i might have sat through an episode just to see how it is..

And for trying too hard thing to be modern..
Just answer a question, if a modern art painted got married to a history professor (which is a very normal job) and were not too imposing on their kids on studies n to be after the typical jobs of a doc or an engineer.. and allowed their kids to pursue their creative talents isn't this a very realistic situation?
You see there are two ways looking at things.. But it is ur problem if u always see the glass half empty.. I would prefer to see the glass half full..

and then the typical feel..

hmm ya the clash of a MIL & DIL is pretty typical and done to death..
But tell me how many times have u seen a DIL who comes from a BG that would help her to not just defend herself against the MIL and actually actively oppose her when she is wrong? A DIL taught to call a spade a spade and will say a resounding NO whenever she thinks the saas is wrong?

that is where this show would be different.

I will concede one point I don't like this MIL being portrayed as larger than life kinda thing and that alligator walk and 'I am above reproach' thing.. and reminded me of Kokila ben in SNS.. which sucked..:((

but knowing for a fact that Chhan Chhan is going to hold the bull by the horns and tackle it instead of buckling under pressure and be coerced to bow against her will.. I would be watching as well as cherishing every moment..

So far many moments reminded me of my own life.. I am a part of a girl gang and their reactions to saris, the way they dressed up in one friend's place and having a small pet around (a cat in my case).. they were like things I had myself done.. it felt nice to see something I could relate to in a show for a change..

As for Farhan. he is new.. I am a huge Barun fan..but that doesn't mean I would write away everyone else.. He is good for a newcomer.. He improved within the episode itself.. And i like his scenes with Sanaya.. they have pretty good chemistry.. a much more lighthearted and cute chemistry as opposed to intense kind..

Universal popularity is something no1 can get.. So a simple advice.. if u don't like it the choice is yours u can simply change the channel:-)

All shows are boring in the beginning but you still want to watch them...

The first episode of Chanchan was totally bakwaas... It is such a dull and cheesy show... 👎🏼

Tiyali..I don't know if there are good scripts and screenplay available in TV for actors..specially females
Most of the TV watchers(drama) r ladies and scripts r written keeping them in mind. Trp shows are mostly crappy and it shows the general likes and dislikes of masses. Can u name a drama which u think is very interesting and an actor who has fab script to play? There is very limited choice for actors in TV😕

There are others who like to watch the show. Farhan is new it's not right to judge him. Before saying anything about him, you should always think if you were in his place. Would you liked to be judged on something you barley started. So please stop

sorry for picking on your post, but this is a forum and people have as much right to say that they found the show boring as those who say that they loved the show. A forum will have both negative and positive opinions and asking people to stay away defeats the very purpose and spirit of the forum. Don't take posts too personally.

To the TM, I would have probably said the same thing as you if I had not seen today's episode. I think the episode today was very nice and sets the mood nicely. I hope you will enjoy the show soon.

Qubool Hai!

The story was very well-thought and what we saw in the first episodes is explained now which means they had a proper script in mind! It is very different from all the saab-bahu stuff and has some great and powerful actors playing their parts perfectly well
