Arre ye thread khatam karna hai! I thought the last two themes would be enough! Looks like not!
So I'm posting a new theme, if the current one is done?
If not, we can still keep posting songs from all the other themes! No rules here except I wanna see this thread ending soon! 😳
Okay, so we've had a lot of exuberance and joy and even some amount of teasing and seduction. Now let's move on to sad songs. Songs of regret, remembrance, betrayal or heartbreak.
Like the poet Shelley said:
Our sincerest laughter with some pain is fraught;
Our sweetest songs are those that tell of saddest thought.
Yet if we could scorn hate, and pride, and fear;
If we were things born not to shed a tear,
I know not how thy joy we ever should come near.
A sentiment which was echoed in Shailendra's poetry:
Hai sabse madhur woh geet jinhe hum dard ke sur mein gaate hain
It's true, isn't it? Without pain we would not know nor embrace the sweetness of joy which is a balm to heal our wounds. If a heart is not wounded at all, how will it learn to appreciate the soothing calmness of love? Without tears to wash away the pain, how will the heart heal?
Here are some songs of heartbreak - some of my eternal favorites, they never fail to pierce the heart with their poignance.
